  2. Ceetar wrote: they're saying 70. interesting. That's cool, never been worn in the bigs for the Mets http://mbtn.net/number/70
  3. Agree with @Ceetar the only one I follow is Heyman....not even sure why, he does have the odd breaking news here is the one to follow @greg_prince
  4. And it's all falling asunder here in the 3rd with 2 out.
  5. Zvon wrote: Im taking bets. How many innings does Miguel last? Does he get outta the 1st? Does he settle down? The suspense is hurting my head. Hefner was up Howie said , over 30 pitches but gets out of it only down one. Howie speculating that when Harvey gets the call it will be a road start and not in Santana's spot against Strasburg Wednesday.
  6. Batista gets two outs and then walks the next two, then gives up a hit, 1 zip Dodgers, walk.......boos
  7. Damn, was this even on the radar?,a lot of players involved. Toronto has a minor league in in Las Vegas?, seems a bit out of the way.
  8. I'll trade Davis.....Duda is Jim Thome ,but he doesn't know that yet and isn't acting like him at all.
  9. All those pretends are for you Ceetar......please play along
  10. Up to 3 outfielders, a second baseman and a catcher shy, and it's not like they're stacked up at AAA right now. yeah , need to go the FA route..... http://www.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/?page_id=177 some great outfield help but likely not coming here....not much in the potential FA 2nd basemen not an easy task at all......
  11. bmfc1 wrote: No Valdespin against the righty after what he did last night? He could have started in CF for Torres (they want to give Bay ABs, I guess). yeah, it's annoying, give Bay at bats until a crucial spot in the 9th comes up then pinch hit for him.......is playing Bay coming from the FO? I can't imagine Collins wants to play him....
  12. bleh Tejada-6; Murphy-4; Wright-5; Davis-3; Duda-9; Bay-7; Torres-8; Thole-2; Young-1
  13. Sherman covers these horrible Mud Hens? no, didn't think so......he sure seems to want to imply something alright and if Harvey does get that start and gets hammered Sherman will fall back on that quote.
  14. Would Seattle have anything stupid like territorial rights over Portland....
  15. metsguyinmichigan wrote: Yeah! Terry makes an appearance on the field! that was pretty cool by LaRussa .... very funny to see the slo mo of Melky's shot as he rounded the bases shouting at Cano, then sticks his hand out for a high five, Cano stood there like a statue.....not a good weekend for him,.
  16. Is this expansion for real? I went with Oregon Looks like a good sports town....passionate fans I'd like San Juan but games there in the past didn't sell out , MLB prices were too steep for the locals.
  17. G-Fafif wrote: I tell you what. I'd heard this story off-the-record a few months ago and am glad it's now coming to light. that's really cool.....lumps I tell ya
  18. Christ almighty , sounds serious obviously , hope it is not.
  19. Ahhhh, George Brett.............who the feck is Brett Butler? agree, terrible production....
  20. Flipped to the HR Derby last night and there was Kruk eating a big tray of ribs.......one of the players getting caught of camera doing the same this while standing next to Brett Butler.......couldn't watch though, Berman kills everything.....heard Cano got booed loudly all night.
  21. Reggie not welcome in the Bronx according to people familiar with the situation http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/yankees-reggie-jackson-stay-ripped-alex-rodriguez-sports-illustrated-article-article-1.1110762
  22. Not a fan at all of those NL shirts.
  23. The Mets being competitive in September in not an achievement, it's a birth right.
  24. Centerfield wrote: Backman's way off base here. This is not at all a disgrace to the Yankee family. Mariano Rivera electrifying his pool and accidentally killing little boys (when he was trying to kill puppies instead) was a disgrace to the Yankee family. Jim Leyritz drinking and driving and killing a young woman coming home from work was a disgrace to the Yankee family. Roger Clemens, Andy Pettite, and Alex Rodriguez juicing up was a disgrace to the Yankee family. Reggie was just displaying every-day assholeish Yankee behavior. dying.....
  25. Centerfield wrote: I guess this is a pretty good decision by Tony LaRussa. Cain is clearly the better pitcher here. I mean, if you ignore the fact that Dickey has more wins, fewer losses, a lower ERA, lower WHIP, and struck out more batters. Other than that Cain is clearly the better pitcher. Yeah, really not a big deal that Dickey didn't get the start....he's there, what an achievement.
