  1. No worries about the bullpen, so far. While this team has had it's hitting woes during the first three series of the season, the bullpen (which looked as shaky as anything in ST) has been really good. Even with the taxing due to Matz' meltdown on Monday, the relievers have a 2.02 ERA over the first 8 games.
  2. Robles bailed Terry out big time. I thought it was a mistake to bring Henderson in after his big workload last night and an even bigger mistake to leave him in after that first hit. Wilmer played a really nice first base today, too.
  3. Certainly not a certainty...but I'm concerned they are playing with a short bench rather than putting Jacob on paternity leave.
  4. That leads me to believe that deGrom will miss more than one start.
  5. Today would have been the day I moved Granderson out of the leadoff spot with Lagares starting.
  6. Let's not put too much on Noah. He just needs to do what he does. Last night aside, Mets pitching has not been the issue. This offense needs to show some thunder.
  7. FWIW, this is exactly what I remember Grandy looking like early last season, too. SNY flashed a Citi Field promo yesterday where they are giving away some Grandy high socks. The promo read "Curtis Granderson Socks", but obviously I read it as "Curtis Granderson Sucks" before I did a double take.
  8. I'm mostly worried about deGrom. His health is necessary to doing anything big this season. The rest of the items on the list are worries - and certainly concerning when they all occur at the same time at the beginning of the season. But it's too early for me to get out on the ledge over Grandy, Harvey or Wright. The April schedule is very favorable for the Mets, though. That doesn't leave them much time for them to get their shit together offensively. Treading water at .500 (or *gulp* worse) should not be the idea through the first 20 games.
  9. The bullpen has been more solid and Colon had a good outing last night, but otherwise the team looks much like they did when they were struggling through Spring Training.
  10. I voted love then and I'm still a love now. Walker is a more cost effective and shorter term commitment than a Murphy re-sign would have been without sacrificing much in the way of overall production over Daniel. Niese would not have been one of the top four pitchers on the 2016 staff and his salary can be used elsewhere.
  11. Look out!
  12. Great work, FK. If the Mets are who they say they are in 2016, they'll need to continue last year's dominance of the Phillies. It all starts today against a squad that the Mets shouldn't have trouble dominating.
  13. Only four runs were earned for Jon. I wonder how he feels about that superior Pittsburgh defense. St. Louis - Top of 3rd Jonathon Niese pitching for Pittsburgh Díaz singled to right. Wacha sacrificed to catcher, Díaz to second. Carpenter walked. Piscotty singled to left, Díaz to third, Carpenter to second, Díaz scored, Carpenter to third, Piscotty to second on error by left fielder Marte. Holliday grounded out to second, Carpenter scored, Piscotty to third. Grichuk struck out swinging. St. Louis - Top of 5th Jonathon Niese pitching for Pittsburgh Carpenter struck out swinging. Piscotty tripled to deep right center. Holliday safe at second on throwing error by shortstop Mercer, Piscotty scored. Grichuk struck out swinging. Molina struck out swinging.
  14. All the more reason to win it all in '16!
  15. Fresh off the digital home release of Episode VII, Lucasflim released the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which will be released in December. Wji-BZ0oCwg This flick is a stand alone story and does not follow the Skywalker character plot. The events take place between Episodes III and IV.
  16. You can vote for Curtis's walkup music on Opening Day: http://www.theplayerstribune.com/curtis-granderson-walk-up-song-vote/
  17. Syndergaard = Amazing I'm satisfied with a two game split against the World Champs but not looking forward to two baseball-less days.

In term of non-players, I prefer her to guys like Verducci. So, Keith Hernandez and Tom Verducci are above and below the Mendoza Line, respectively. BOC!
  19. Mendoza's fine, but she's not adding anything to the game for me. To be fair, ESPN analysts rarely do. I tend to think ESPN may be using her as a gimmick more than anything else. In a perfect world, I'd prefer MLB analysts to be former MLB players (it's not like there is a shortage of them). In term of non-players, I prefer her to guys like Verducci. I would be 10,000 times more excited about a female MLB player than analyst.

I watch nearly every game on delay after DVR recording and can get through a typical nine inning game in about an hour and a half by skipping commercials and walk-ups. It's the best, Jerry. The best.
  21. I think every worry I had in ST carried over into this game. Defense overall (Cespedes in particular), Wright's decline, missed offensive opportunities with men LOB, lack of energy overall, etc. That said, this game was very much like watching the 2015 WS all over again. Both teams look the same as they did 5 months ago.
  22. Great work, LWFS! I forgot Eric Stonestreet was a fan. So, it's Phil vs. Cam? [fimg=400]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BMQG7EdCIAI5AO8.jpg[/fimg]
  23. I know it's only one game, but I'd love to crush these has-beens. The future is orange and blue.
