  1. I may have missed it, but was there any comment from Blevins on why his uni number changed from 13 to 39? 13 was a number he had been wearing since 2008 with the A's. I suppose it might have to due with the bad luck last season...but I would think anyone wearing #13 that long would be above the superstition that surrounds the number.
  2. Looks like they have corrected the mistake.
  3. I'll take 4/8 in the pool on when this baby comes.
  4. Finding a tall girl that fits into the rest of the mold might be the hardest part. Not that there aren't tall girls that can be all of those other things...it's just that tall girls are rarer in general.
  5. Even though he played for the Mets, I will always remember him as a Yank and Nat facing the Mets more than any time he pitched for us.

Edgy MD wrote: Uni Watch looks at the grossly under-reported story of mesh panels added to the bottoms of Majestic jerseys, which is a cheap and perhaps more lightweight and comfortable way to help tops stay tucked in, but will look bonkers on fans, who tend to wear their jerseys untucked. I bought two jerseys last season and now I'm extremely glad I did. Still, I don't see how those mesh tails can last. The '86 throwbacks look cool.
  10. G'ah! I'll fix and edit...thanks for catching.

  12. Inspired by Harvey's comeback in 2015 and the competition to be the best in the Mets 2016 rotation, Zack Wheeler breezes through his rehab starts and goes undefeated in seven starts down the stretch as other starters begin to show signs of fatigue.
  13. Josh Edgin looks for a May 1 return. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/114102/mets-forecast-may-1-return-for-josh-edgin
  14. The scuttlebutt I've seen on the interwebs is that Flores will now be the super-sub backing up 1B, 2B and 3B. I would guess that Tejada will be the primary backup of Cabrera at SS. This could mean that even without any major injuries, Wilmer could still see a lot of playing time.

  16. Yeah, I've seen more videos of Bartolo working out this winter than all other Mets combined. http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2016/01/15/162024702/watch-bartolo-colon-workout-on-the-beach http://bustedcoverage.com/2016/01/05/bartolo-colon-rope-workout-video-mets/

  18. The team is better than it was at the end of 2015 (on paper, anyway). As mentioned above, not a lot of holes. I think it would be hard to say that Sandy hasn't been the best GM in baseball over the past 6 months. Getting Cespedes at the deadline without moving major-leaguers was no small feat...but getting him to re-sign without a long-term deal is a miracle, IMO. All this while battling cancer...hip, hip, hooray! I can't wait for opening day.
  19. Pissing on $20M is stupid no matter what city you live in.

That's not what I said. I just don't want HIM at 33 at $20M+. I'm not 100% sold on Cespedes...certainly not long term. He'll be blocking up the payroll and a roster spot at a time when I believe there could be better (and cheaper) options available. I'm all in on him for next year. Even three years wouldn't bug me. After that, I believe he would be be a liability rather than an asset.
