  1. Good for Pedro, good for Boston. Nice ovation. Beckett throws hard.
  2. metirish wrote: I wonder if Nady plays tonight, he bruised his wrist in the game yesterday, if not then we should see Chavez in RF nad Valentin at 2nd. I'd doubt if Reyes plays short either, could be Woody again...although Jose has not been fully ruled out. May need to be a better than usual start for Pedro.
  3. Elster88 wrote: Here's some perfect 20-20 hindsight: why didn't Valentin start at second? I don't think you'll like my speculative answer: Yesterday was Woodward's birthday.
  4. metirish wrote: Do we have only Francesa as a source that Milledge didn't "learn" to play the wall?. I saw him flub a routine fly ball he should have caught because he didn't know where the wall was. Even if he did learn, he should do it again. To be fair, he played a carom off the wall very well early in the game...before he came no where near second base trying to throw the runner out at second.
  5. Cahlos goes KAHBOOM! Nah, the athah one. 8-3 Sawks in the 7th.
  6. Sitdown Big Pap...you're good at it.
  7. Let's see how good we can make Julian Tavarez look.
  8. The hits just keep on coming. Mike Lowell goes yahd off the Coke bottles. 6-2 Sawks.
  9. Ahh..fah the love ah... Wright K's...going to the bahtom of the 5th...5-2 Bahston.
  10. Not to second guess...but if I was Willie I would of thought of starting Valentin in left. A rookie against the wall in left at Fenway wouldn't have been my choice.
  11. Mothah Love Bone...this sucks.
  12. Mahk Lahretter on fire. Shoots a double off the mahnstah. Ortiz get a free pass. Bahston trying for anothah 2 out rally. The dimensions of Fenway seem to be intimidating the Mets defensively.

  14. Jahn Lestah wahlks in a run with the bases loaded. 3-2 Sawks, Mets still batting.
  15. In Game injury report from ESPN: Longtime ESPN Baseball analyst Peter Gammons suffered an aneurysm in his brain Tuesday morning near his home on Cape Cod, Mass. He was airlifted to a Boston hospital, where he is currently undergoing surgery.
  16. Mahk Loretter with an AhBI single in the second. 3-1 Bahston.
  17. Cahlos goes KAHBOOM!!! Nah, the othah one. 2-1 Sawks.
  18. 40+ pitches latah...Solah gets out of the 1st. 2-0 Red Sawks
  19. Interleague play is stupid, I always lose interest during this week of the year. It makes me sick that the Mets play the Yankees as many times per year as they play the Cardinals and Dodgers. I could not care less how the Mets fare against the Yankees because they really are the most meaningless games. I understand the cash cow it creates for the NY teams and MLB, but it still doesn't change the fact that baseball fans across the country don't care what happens in Boston and New York.
  20. Screw the "day off" for Beltran, pull a Bobby V and send in the clowns.
  21. Arroyo and Webb are awesome ace pitchers that we've faced lately, but I think Halladay may be the toughest ace we've faced yet. Hopefully, I'm proven wrong.
  22. Bradford since 5/20...13 appearances, 10 IP, 2 H, 0 ER. Money!
  23. Bradford is the man.
  24. Hillbilly wrote: All true, but he was asked about it by a reporter and basically said I don’t want to go down, I’ll sit if I have to, and if you give me a chance, I’ll tear it up. Lastings will never come across like David Wright. They are different players with different upbringings. I don’t think LM has a lot to learn at AAA at this point, and it’s just a matter of a spot opening up for him and he’ll be up to stay. Hopefully he’ll back up his youthful confidence with his performance on the field. I can live with that...and I don't really want to beat up on LM. In the end, I don't think he'll learn any more at AAA either, but IMO it would be better for him to play everyday than sit on the bench at any level. And hey, if he goes on a tear and is helping the team, I would love for him to be in NY.
  25. Milledge can say what ever he wants...I don't care. As far as him deserving a spot on the ML club, he doesn't. He is certainly a big league option, but he has done nothing to deserve a spot. I can understand wanting it, and I have no problem with him expressing that. But in the end, he is best served by doing whatever those around him tell him to do regardless of his opinion because they all have more baseball experience than he does.
