  1. I'm in agreement with the awarding points how the poster sees fit. That is the point of a poll, otherwise one poster would just tell us who the player of the game was and who got what points. I take my voting on a game by game basis and always give out 10 points. However, more often than not, I abstain from voting at all if the game is a loss or I simply didn't watch the game. IIRC, the whole idea of the Schaefer voting was supposded to be an improvment on the POTG poll which limited players to only one vote per game, even if there were several key players. In my mind, if we are expanding the voting to 10 points per game distributed through many players, I should be able to give those to any player that in my mind contributed positively to the game. Personally, I remember the times a few years ago when there were just two polls, the POTG poll for wins and the Goat of the Game for losses. Those polls were a lot more fun. I think we're all fairly intelligent baseball fans...Schaefer could be more fun, if posters didn't feel they had to justify their votes. Edit: spelling
  2. Not anymore...more like mush-nosed.
  3. It doesn't look so good, this may just be the beginning of the rain for the city of brotherly love.
  4. And God says, "I love the Phillies!" Rain begins pouring as the top of the 5th ends.
  5. Willets Point wrote: No I can't make it Sunday because I've got to catch my flight back Sunday afternoon - so no Pedro or pink bats for me. I'll be at Friday and Saturday's games. Well, enjoy your time in beer town and have a fun trip.
  6. Willets Point wrote: I may get to Milwaukee before the Mets. Hey Willets, if you haven't left already, are you going to the pink bat game on Sunday? I'll be there.
  7. Floyd (Cliff) robbed of an infield single by the ump. Phillie announcers both said "huh!" in unison as they watched the replay. "I thought ties went to the runner, but the Phils will take it." We need to score some runs off this guy before it starts to rain.
  8. Rowand broke his nose! That's taking one for the team. Why don't they make the padding bigger on the fence to cover up the metal bar that he hit his face on? This was bound to happen.
  9. I blame Zambrano. What kind of name is Chase Utley anyway? Sounds like an insurance company. 1-0 Phils, bot 1.
  10. Will be remembered as one of the best defensive plays of the year...good for him, hope he's not too banged up.
  11. Ball wouldn't have left the yard, but would have bounced off the wall.
  12. Great catch by Rowand robbing 2-3 runs off the bat off Nady.
  13. Glavine 6 LoDuca 2 Beltran 1 Delgado 1
  14. We needed this tonight. Our lineup should be able to do this kind of damage more often than it has been.
  15. Now we know how Washington felt. This was my least favorite game of the season so far.
  16. MLB.TV has the Phillies TV picture and the Phillies Radio for audio. These announcers are morons...I don't think I can take much more of these homers. The Phillies are slowly replacing the Braves as my most hated team.
  17. Thanks Carlos! KABOOM! No, the other one.
  18. Nady - picking it up...good job X.
  19. This offense is lifeless. They should be able to pick up 3 runs, much less one or two over 5 innings. Myers is okay, but certainly not an elite pitcher.
  20. Phillie's TV didn't even show the replay...that's when I knew he was safe.
  21. Time for the offense to step up and pick up Pedro. How many times has he saved them the past season? Let's get the bats going!
  22. Horseshit call, LoDuca tagged him twice. Never should have been an issue because of the blown balk call before the inning ending double play.
  23. I'll give Zambrano the "Purple Heart, feel good, pitched an inning and a third before blowing out his elbow, ending his season, when he never should have been pitching" award for yesterday's effort. But, in the larger scheme of things, Julio not blowing the lead when he has been god-awful in pressure situations this year is more important to me.
  24. Oliver 2 Reyes 2 Matsui 2 Beltran 2 Delgado 1 Julio 1
  25. I'm glad Willie stuck with Julio, even though I lost my lunch, he needed it. 9 games up on the Braves...let's make it 10 tomorrow!
