  1. Yeah, I think the whole reason Terry got the job was experience.

  3. Tom Glavine is devastated.

  5. What a trip! I haven't thought about any of these peeps in years.
  6. My personal losing streak is finally over after about a dozen games. If the Mets become exciting contenders down the stretch, I'll probably take credit.
  7. I'll be in the gay dame crowd this afternoon looking for the Mets winning streak to continue.
  8. I saw the Raconteurs in Milwaukee on Sunday. I believe White is a Tigers fan, so maybe he was rooting for the Mets?
  9. =duan post_id=15105 time=1562328476 user_id=99] Finally - about the 7line - I've never been to a game with them (haven't been in NYC since June 2001!) but the one thing I think is amazing is that they've finally got the 'away fan' culture going a bit. One of the brilliant things about football is the way that there's fans who travel to matches all round the country/world to follow their team. It's what makes the atmosphere - it also allows things like this ... [to explain - Emmanuel Adebayor had left Arsenal for Man City - Arsenal fans believed it was to get more money, Adebayor says that Arsenal accepted the bid for him and he didn't precipitate it. When Arsenal travelled to play City at the start of the season their fans gave him all sorts of grief - then he scored.... ]
  10. Yeah, I'd say this team is meeting my pre-season expectations, so I'm not terribly disappointed. I'm down to one or two games a week and rarely the whole thing...especially when they are losing and/or look like losers. I don't know if it was "giving up", but I didn't consider this team would be a competitive one at jump street.
  11. I don't feel any differently about it now than I did then. I was hoping it would be part of other moves, but it really wasn't. Cano/Diaz was not going to push the team's talent over the top. It's more of the same. This team can never fully commit to a rebuild or truly "go for it" from Opening Day.
  12. A Boy Named Seo wrote: I started this stupid thread, but despite Mickey's shortcomings, this is a flawed team constructed by negligent ownership and an inexperienced GM who mortgaged the future to be mediocre NOW!!! Mickey ain't the the reason. He's certainly not helping, though. Terry Collins seemed to do more with less.
  13. I've definitely lost faith in Calloway, though.
  14. I'll be there for the gay dame vs. the Mets on 08/01/19.
  15. I learned from the Milwaukee broadcast that Pete Alonso played for my local https://northwoodsleague.com/madison-mallards/Madison Mallards college-summer team in 2014. http://northwoods.bbstats.pointstreak.com/player.html?playerid=645938&seasonid=28661He hit .354 with 18 HR that summer. I has no idea.
  16. I'm pretty sure I've found my next band's name.
  17. I see 28, I think Murphy not Davis (in fact, I see "Davis" and I still think 29). I see 40, I think Colon not Ramos. I'm used to Alonso, Broxton and Cano. Diaz is recognizable to me based on his role, but I don't think I could pick him out of a lineup in street clothes.
  18. I very much dislike the use of a closer in a non-save situation.

  20. This division will not be kind to the Mets. Every spring brings reason for hope...but my head says 79-83, 4th place.
  21. This was a pretty amazing movie...no sophomore slump for Jordan Peele.
