  1. Per Burkhardt's Twitter through Metsblog: Ike Davis flying to NY to be looked at by team Drs....
  2. I read this morning that Armand Hammer (the actor) is being considered to play The Lone Ranger to Johnny Depp's Tonto.

  4. It's going to be a loooonnnnnnnnnng summer. I expect this thread to be about 50 pages long by August 1st.
  5. Marlins. I have a strong dislike for the Phillies which is larger than my strong dislike for the Marlins.
  6. Big Pelf is 3-1 with a 3.16 ERA in his last 4 starts which is a great sign following the debacle that was his first 4 starts of the season.
  7. Ah yeah, forgot about Cone.
  8. Pelfrey 4 Davis 2 Murphy 1 Reyes 1 Isringhausen 1 Rodriguez 1
  9. If it's my call, I give Evans a shot. But it's not my call.
  10. When was the last time Mets fans had to watch one of their All-Stars go play at an All-Star level for another team? I can't remember any since Darryl...and he was barely an All-Star after he left New York.
  11. I'm fairly certain that it's part of the contract.
  12. Well, any small hope I had about this being a winning season was zapped when Chris Young's season came to an end. I'm all for selling off what we can if the prospects coming back are right. It's both good and bad that outside of Ike, Jose and Carlos are the two most consistent offensive players on the team in 2011. I don't see them trading Wright, or that there will be any takers for Pelfrey, but I fully expect Beltran and Frankie to be shopped hard. I'm also preparing myself now for the likelihood that Jose will be wearing different colors in August.

  14. Capuano 3 Davis 1 Buchholz 1
  15. Questionable call at the plate...I thought out in real time, but after review, I'm not so sure.
  16. Cappy's looked pretty decent the past couple of starts. On edit: I'm fine with letting Cappy hit there, but I wish Thole would have swung the bat.
  17. Twenty to eight where I am. I'm a fan of games off the east coast. It means I have time to get things done before the game starts. 6:10 kills me sometimes.
  18. Nice work, FK. Time to avenge that crappy CF series from April.
  19. bmfc1 wrote: I hope that Alderson figures out a way, as stated earlier here, to keep Ike, David & Jose together and build/re-structure around them. This. But it is going to be very expensive to keep Reyes (your league leader in hits at this point). Behind all of the smiles and quoted loyalty, I think he (and his agent) are itching to see how much he can get on the open market.

  23. Hey! 30 years older than George Clooney.
  24. Not future, but historical, with apologies to Ben if he was working on this: Past Metly Lineups According to Name Characters For our purposes here, spaces and apostrophes count as 1 character (Lo Duca = 7, D'Amico = 7). Also, in games with a DH, the pitcher's name is not counted, otherwise, the pitcher's name is included. All players are from the starting lineup. Sorry, no relievers, pinches or substitutes.
