I still think Wright's been better over their time with the Mets, but that shouldn't take away from your broader point. Beltran is terrific and is IMO the best thing Omar ever did for the Mets. Honestly, him having a great year would be the best thing for the Mets. The chances of him being with the team in 2012 were slim-to-none anyway. At least his trade value is increasing everyday. His walk-off HRs of 2006 are some of my favorite post-Piazza moments. I will miss him when he's gone.

This is the third season in a row that Martinez has made a major league appearance. He is still the 8th youngest man playing major league baseball in 2011. Sometimes it's easy to forget how young this dude still is even though it seems like he's been hangin' around forever. -
1. Jose Reyes SS 2. Josh Thole C 3. David Wright 3B 4. Carlos Beltran RF 5. Jason Bay LF 6. Daniel Murphy 1B 7. Justin Turner 2B 8. Jason Pridie CF 9. Dillon Gee P Thole back up in the two-hole. I wonder what that's all about.

Actually, Pence, Reyes, Beltran and Larry Jones are all tied for the lead league.

Centerfielder Michael Bourn is good at running...and not much else. .261/.340/.348/.688 Bourne is 13 for 13 in stolen base attempts and leads the league in steals (but Reyes is just 1 behind, and don't think he doesn't know it).

I don't really care, but my least favorite are the black road jerseys that say "Mets". The road jerseys should say "New York". When they wore the road greys with the blue caps for that Yankees series a few years ago, I forgot how much I missed that look. I'm OK with the black, but would like to see it evolve into a once-in-a-while type thing.
