  1. The Dugout gets to the bottom of this scandal. The very bottom.
  2. Whoops! Throwing error on the number 8-hitting third baseman. Guy's a scrub.
  3. ]I'm blown away by ARod in the 8hole too. It won't matter much in the grand scheme of the game but will get analyzed to death on the sidelines. Especially if he comes up with 2 or 3 hits today and is standing in the on-deck circle or in the hole as a Yankee rally is ended by Cano or Posada. 3-0 now on a Monroe homer, followed by a Marcus Thames single. Wright's getting pounded and his ass is still quite large.
  4. Girl Power: 1-0 Tigers on a Magglio bomb to left-center. Jaret Wright is not only struggling with command, he's also having problems hiding his sizable girth under his baggy, grey road uni. Plus the chaw in his mouth makes his chubby cheeks look all the more more rotund. He's a pretty large man.
  5. Dodgeball Guy: "They sure hit you over the head with the Tiger motif here, don't they?" They are, you know, the Tigers.
  6. Weird to me that Sheffield's in there today instead of Giambi. And I still can't get over A-Rod batting 8th. Nutty.
  7. Three Dodgeball references in one half inning? Easy, fella.
  8. Word on the street (ESPN) is that A-Rod is getting dropped to 8th in the Yankee lineup today. 8th.
  9. Cliff's got a playoff blog and it's pretty cool. Check it out to read Cliff rap about Wright's poise, how much he still misses Cameron, and how it felt to pop one out in Game 1.
  10. ]I predict it will happen at Dodger Stadium. What's the deal with Beltran at Shea? Ask Soupcan.
  11. That K of Beltran was Kuo's 61st pitch. It would've been nice to get another run and maybe get him the hell out of the game there.
  12. Eh, maybe.
  13. ]I didn't realize that Mota's hitting record was as decent as it was (most relievers swing once every 6 months or so) but w/a different set-up I'd be screaming for a PH there. Willie played the whole thing perfectly IMO I thought it was funny for a couple of reasons. Marlon (lefty) was leading off the 7th followed by Betemit (switch), plus the pitcher's spot. Mota's got a Heilman-type slider (edit: I meant change-up) that can give lefties fits, but I thought maybe Oliver might start the inning at least. Marlon hit .310/.373/.556 against righties and just .256/.284/.365 against lefties. Betemit was even worse. .281/.344/.505 against righties, .189/.250/.324 against lefties. Burn Woody there and maybe something good happens. If not, the Mets still have Franco and Castro as the righties on the bench and Oliver to face at least the first two guys.
  14. I never saw a clear replay of Donnelly, but it seems to me he waved Kent in and didn't give Drew his own set of signs, and Drew barrelled towards the plate thinking the sign to keep running was for him. Poor coaching by Donnelly for sure. Still, Drew needs to have some sort of clue with the play developing in front of him. Was he looking down? Trying to find his lady in the stands? How did he have no idea what was going on at the plate?
  15. Edgy DC wrote: Me, I'm rockin' the pastel. Equally anti-establishment. C'mon, Billy.
  16. I love that McEnroe's rocking the blue cap and blue t-shirt.
  17. I know we've got a thin bench and all, but Woody woulda been the way to go there, I think.
  18. Scratch that. Floyd intentionally walked. Lowe done. Hendrickson coming on to face Green.
  19. Infield in. Hendrickson and Penny up in the penny.
  20. Mota only threw 11 pitches and isn't scheduled to bat. He could go again, I guess, but with a lefty, switch hitter, and the pitcher's spot up, we might see Oliver.
  21. Thorne is missing a lot of these pitches.
  22. Mota's on. Willie must be looking at either Oliver in the 7th or (hopefully) Heilman for 2. Edit: Maybe Robo next inning. I'm more amped up than Reyes.
  23. That super slow-mo replay is kick ass.
  24. John Maine is pitching his bag off. Lets get him some runs NOW!!!
