  1. Even when Keith says stupid shit like he just did about Oliver Perez changing speeds ("Everything's so complicated today, it's a game, he threw hard, he threw soft") and last night when he said Oliver has had only one good season and used his yearly W-L records as evidence, I still think he provides pretty good insight most nights on hitting and D, and is scores better than cliche-machine Darling. Ronnie's not bad, but how the hell did he win an Emmy?
  2. Vic- Who's the chick smiling at me from your avatar? I'm quite sure I've seen pics of you wearing a beard. Have you gone Victoria Sage on us?
  3. Johnny Dickshot wrote: ]Is Damon's wing that cripple or was he just kinda throwing into the pitcher? Complete Popgun. He attempted the same thing in the first inning last night with results just as comical. He looks like I look when I try to throw left-handed and I'm not left-handed.
  4. Tom FREAKING Glavine getting a close call against DEREK JETER!!!!! Johnny Damon read the Yankee lineup before the game started. He nicknamed two guys "The Hitman".
  5. ]"When you came here from the Pirates, you were a caterpillar. You're a butterfly now." -Rick Peterson to Oliver Perez
  6. Another double. Did he shave his junk, too?
  7. Lineup hawks in this room. Hawks, I tell you. Edit: And I'm Hawk Taylor. Excellent.
  8. Gameday has a different lineup: Reyes Endy CF Wright Delgado Green Castro Newhan LF Gotay Pelfrey Beltran resting some sore legs sez the radio??
  9. Keith sez Vonnegut was his neighbor in Manhattan. Said he used to see him in the park and chat him up. Called him a huge baseball fan. Ollie working his own Hocus Pocus. 8 K's through 4. Bee bah boo.
  10. The Mets look like shit. You know what I'm sayin'?
  11. Cue circus music.
  12. Phillips seems to go from admitting in the previous article that he turned the other cheek because everyone else is was doing it to now just being a little naive. ]"I had suspicions about individual players here and there, but it was one of those situations that you didn't ask about [because] there was nothing you could do if they said no," Phillips says. "My attitude as a GM was, I want a level playing field. If other teams were doing it, I wasn't going to go through my clubhouse and look in every shoebox. I wasn't proposing that my guys use it, but I also wasn't going to propose that the Mets be the only clean team in baseball. I couldn't go back to my owner and say, ':We tried to beat these teams full of big guys with our little skinny guys.'" Article today: ]I was often accused of being in the Mets' clubhouse too much during my years as general manager (1997-2003). I have to admit that I am hoping that there aren't any of my former players outed by this process as it would indicate that not only was I in the clubhouse too much but that I was also deaf and blind.
  13. MASN is really pretty bad. On the two great Zimmerman plays, Easley looked safe by an eye lash (not going to kill Randazzo on that one) but the network never showed a slow-mo replay of the Reyes call at first. I knew it was close, but the replays they showed were of shots that stuck with Zimmerman after he got up and threw and I was a little pissed to not get a good look at that. We definitely got a make-up after that, but I don't think it was a make-up as much as a fuck up, because after that blown call came the most blatant screw up on the DP grounder. That first base up was just terrible. Yeah, the 8th was run strangely. I thought it was Manuel calling the show on his own. I thought Reyes might try to steal second (and think Willie would've done that), but Lo Duca bunted immediately. MASN's Bob Carpenter, who makes me want to cut my own ears off, thought Reyes would run, too. The Mets knew Flores' arm pretty well and he looked good gunning down Reyes on that double-steal, but he probably should've swiped second and then let Lo Douchebag bunt. I got scared when Manuel yanked Smith after one hitter and brought Sele in when he did. I thought we might be in for a long night, and thought he mighta shoulda gone with Burgos there instead, especially with the pitcher's spot in the order coming up, but it ended up not being an issue. I would've felt a lot more comfortable with Sele and Wagner left looking at extras, though. Lots of agita for me from a bullpen that went 6 innings, gave up just 4 hits, and one earned run. Great job, guys, but less walks, please. Less walks. The offense looked putrid and I think it's no coincidence we play like shit in the black uni's. Whack the black already.
  14. June 11-13 is actually the Dodgers. I'm going to be there in style on the 13th. On the field, kids.
  15. I can't tell Aaron Cook apart from John Thomson.
  16. Jaime Carrol: "Hey, look what I found in my glove!"
  17. What's the point of the vest if the undershirt is the same color as the jersey? Stoopid. Them: Finley CF Carrol 2B Atkins 3B Helton 1B Holliday LF Hawpe RF Torrealba C Tulowitski SS Cook P =orange]Us: Same dudes El Duque P

  19. Win Expectancy jumps from 25% to 90 just like that. Let's hold 'em.
  20. ] A law making it expressly illegal to interfere with a professional sporting event was passed by the city in 2003 following a disruptive incident involving fashion designer Calvin Klein. Klein stepped onto the basketball court at Madison Square Garden in March 2003 to speak with player Latrell Sprewell while a Knicks game was in progress. What in the world did Calvin Klein have to say to Latrell Sprewell? It must've been good if Latrell's Law was quickly enacted after that "meeting".

I don't know what the hell is going on, but last year he smashed line drives to all fields and this year we're seeing more soft singles and lazy fly balls. 2006 Post-AS, 243 AB, 6 HR, .844 OPS 2006 Playoffs, 37 AB, 0 HR, .688 OPS 2007 Spring Training, 63 AB, 1 HR, ??? 22. The guy probably worked for Page 6 for all we know. It's nobody's business and the only interest I have is that a tryst with another teenager will make my crappy Lo Duca-trolling-the-18-and-over-club jokes relevant for another year. Redass needs to chill a little, though. People are going to ask him invasive questions that may be none of anyone's business. If that's the case, tell them so and move on. No need to get all Bonilla on them.
  23. Lo Duca also could've smiled and said cooly, "Sorry, I'm going to keep my personal life personal" instead of yelling at the dude if that account is correct. I guess they don't call a guy Captain Red-Ass for nothing.
