And the Indians, with help from Fernando Rodney walking the bases loaded, score three runs with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Marlins 6-5 and complete the three game sweep.
  3. The 2:15 includes taxiing time and time at the gate, and has a bit of fat in it. Actual time in flight is probably just about 90 minutes.

  5. We owe the Cubs, Indians, Brewers, and Reds some Schaefer.
  6. Is he the first ever Met palindrome?
  7. Edgy MD wrote: Maybe everybody is going to heal overnight tonight, but how about some post-game transactions or transgressions or transvestites or something so Terry has something resembling a real roster tomorrow? John Maine is probably available.
  8. Benjamin Grimm wrote: He's gonna throw a one-hit shutout that we'll be talking about for decades. I'll happily take 2 hits, a load of walks, and no runs that we'll vaguely remember two weeks from now.
  9. I haven't done the math, but it certainly feels like there's finally some reversion to the mean with RISP. And it's about time.
  10. bmfc1 wrote: I'm asking this in all seriousness: which hitter leaves the roster if Conforto is recalled? On this roster, replace TJ Rivera with Walker: http://m.mets.mlb.com/roster/ Ruggiano is a righty OF which they need and has done well. I was thinking about this, too. Send Lugo to the minors until Sep. 5? There are no off-days between now and then, so he's needed if healthy. Same with Smoker. Ruggiano's been good, and none of the veteran position players have been bad enough to DFA and eat salary. Not for a marginal improvement in our outside chance to squeeze into a WC spot. So my guess is that we're stuck with the team we have until Thursday.

  12. Can we just get a freaking win without something going wrong?
  13. And DeAza says "Who needs Conforto???"
  14. Centerfield wrote: Edgy MD wrote: How can he keep a challenge from happening? Ask why it's necessary. There is no question the glove came off. So many times it seems like there is only one manager in the game. He should be out there advocating. Or staying on the bench and letting the Cardinals burn their challenge. And Granderson, doing his part to make it a moot issue.

Johnson booted a grounder yesterday so he hits the bench but he should be in there. And Rivera (w/o Noah pitching) against a righty? This is a must win and Terry has no fucking clue what to do. Fucking Molina is playing for the 3d day in a row but d'Arnaud can't? In fairness, Terry has a better idea of how bad Bruce's leg is than we do. d'Arnaud got a leg up on Crappiest At-Bat of the Year last night with that first-pitch double play in the seventh. I'd sit his ass down tonight, too. And with a pitcher making his second (third? I dunno) major league start, I'd rather have Rivera behind the plate even if d'Arnaud were hitting well. Can't say I disagree about Johnson over Flores at 2B, though.
  17. Just two months ago, I was watching you make the Akron Rubber Ducks look foolish. Now, you're pitching against major leaguers, and also Jedd Gyorko. They grow up so darn fast. I'm proud of you, son.
  18. That's my boy! I had no idea he'd come off the Vegas DL. I'm a neglectful adoptive dad.
  19. I believe Reyes now has the team lead in stolen bases.
  20. 1 is a number symbolizing an event as opposed to a specific person The Indians retired the number of consecutive sellouts at Jacobs Field in the '90s. I think that number was 432, or something ridiculous like that. So we'll never see a Cleveland Indian wearing 432 on his back.
  21. An ex-Met and a Cleveland bicyclist. And he wasn't great overall, but he had a bunch of All-Star seasons with the Tribe. Still, he's probably the wrong Alomar for that particular HOF. 20160730_134504.jpg[/attachment:zwoxagi0] The only other Metly player I can think of that would be in the Indians HOF is Carlos Baerga.
  22. SteveJRogers wrote: And so far two of the wrong guesses could have been right ones with a different franchise. I'm amazed that Roberto Alomar isn't in the Indians HOF. But the Jays must have honored him. As far as the Indians, what about his brother Sandy, Jr?
