  1. Here is the amazing part...if Keith smoked 2.5 during the game, presumably he had a few before it as well. Pearlman's book details how they partied on the plane (ripping it apart) and then went out afterwards. I'm guessing his total for that 24 hour period must have been around 4 packs.
  2. ="Rotblatt"]San Francisco has been better than expected (10-8), but they've gotten lucky, scoring only 86 runs and allowing 100 (PYTH: 8-10). We should really take two out of three there. Let's hope so. Tonight's starter kinda reminds me of Calvin Shiraldi. Does anyone else see it? Or is it just wishful thinking on my part?
  3. Wright 1 Floyd 1 Delgado 1 Chavez 1
  4. Those are some damning quotes in Marty Noble's article. I have no patience whatsoever with Zambrano but quotes like that aren't going to help. The thing I'm starting to wonder is whether his problems really are mental, or a product of pitch selection, or whether his problem is that he's just not that good. Seems to me we criticize him for not throwing strikes, but when he does throw strikes, they get hit a long way.
  5. Tough break for Delgado. Blasts a HR for the 3rd consecutive game, perfect at the plate...no votes.
  6. From CPF-er Adam Rubin's blog: Quick Beltran Update Mets PR director Jay Horwitz just told me that Carlos Beltran's MRI came up clean - and that Beltran is cleared to play whenever he's ready.
  7. Benson picks up the win tonight against the MFY's. Larger story is this, bases loaded, 2 outs, Wang induces a ground ball that Jeter has to range about two steps to his right to field. He gets it, throws high, 2 runs score. The scoring: Base Hit. Here's the amazing part, announcers don't even question the call. In fact, they call it a great play on both ends (Jeter, and Phillips who went high to catch Jeter's awful throw). Amazing.
  8. Padres win the World Series. Or so it appears.
  9. The whole lineup looks like shit. We don't even have a chance out there.
  10. I think we should score now.
  11. Any update on Beltran?
  12. Whoa, when did Edgardo play with racing stripes? Is that really him?
  13. Going the other way with 2 strikes. OBP like you just can't believe. Relatives with oddly similar names.
  14. It's early. There's still time for us to turn things around.
  15. Except in your scenario jb, when told of his mistake by other co-workers, your baffoon would react with: "What's the big deal? Church is church. Why are people getting so bent out of shape? I'm trying to have a good time here."
  16. Yancy Street Gang wrote: For how long will Julio be linked to Anna Benson? Whoa! Does Kris know this is going on?
  17. I think a pitcher who pitches 8 innings, one ER deserves 6 points. Again, it's relative, but I don't see how you can justify merely awarding 1 point. Anyway, while I happen to remember it, I think we should be allowed to exceed the 6 point maximum for when Pedro throws the first Mets No-Hitter later this summer.
  18. Beltran to have an MRI today. Honestly, what is the point in denying the severity of this injury? Why call it day to day when you're getting an MRI? I just don't get what's going on here.
  19. Franco's getting no love whatsoever in the Schaefer polls but running away with it here.
  20. And here we were thinking they were just a bunch of ignorant morons. Silly us.
  21. An interesting development for those of you that don't read MOFO any longer... From nickstur, friend of the Compadres: You are gonna wanna read what I'm about to write: Ddoggy is a member of pedros compadres he's my friend, and I was asked to go that night but couldn't because I had work. So everybody criticizing is obviously jealous This pedros compadres generated a lot of publicity, a lot of attraction, and isn't that a good thing? PEople come to the stadium, see the comapdres, and point and smile, it's funny why is nationality such a huge idea everywhere on everything? They should've dressed as strictly Dominicans right? Let us know what we can do to dress exactly like a Dominican. Ddoggy had the idea, and it was great...sombreros look good, so do mustaches, Pedro is latino so it wasn't totally out of plcae, nobody cares what nationality anybody is, so being offended would be retarded, and compadres is a latino term so that also fit. I know that these compadres had a **** load of fun, how could they not? Jumping up and down, getting all the attention. It's a Mets game...IT'S A GAME!!, it's supposed to be fun and they had it. I hope we do it again on his next start for anybody who doesn't have a life and spends hours a day talking about pointless garbage, u can continue to criticize. Try doing something on your own time to have fun, but make sure you don't drink too much, because then omg it's offensive to irish people, because they drink alot!!
  22. You know, this place could use an FAQ. Shaefer rules should be front and center on it.
  23. Trachsel 4 Franco 3 Matsui 2 Delgado 1
  24. Julios are Jeros today. Nice win Mets.
  25. Nice slider from Julio. 2 down.
