Last night was about as unenjoyable as a close game can be. It seemed like the Brewers started every inning from the 8th on by having the first two reach. And something about the Mets offense gave you the feeling that unless it went 17, they weren't going to score again.
I would have stuck with Heilman since, barring a DP, you would have had a righty following Prince. If I brought in Feliciano, I would have left him in to face the righty.
Not that this mattered in the outcome, but why was Alou being an asshole and not backing off when the centerfielder calls it? Why was he being an asshole and grounding into a DP in our best opportunity to score?
Wait m.e.t.b.o.t., how is that possible? Didn't they pick up a hit? How would that have a negative impact? How about outs recorded by the Nats pitchers? Doesn't that have a positive effect?

Speculation was that he would be included in a deal for Chad Cordero but the Mets are getting competition from the DBacks. All this according to Metsblog.com.
According to the Daily News, Beltran will miss significant time. Although the headline says two weeks, the text of the article suggests it could be more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/2007/07/31/2007-07-31_beltran_likely_out_2_weeks.html
