And today the Diamondbacks have let sources know that Clippard is available to anyone willing to take on the remainder of his contract. Deals like this make me glad that Sandy Alderson is our GM. Clippard may end up being great for Arizona, but this is exactly the type of deal a GM should be avoiding.

That is terrific stuff. I wonder what the hell I was doing in February 2006 that I missed all of this.

But Vic is right. A lot of this comes down to how much you minded them telling the same story again. And yes, it is almost exactly the same story. If you hated it, it brought down the movie a lot. If you didn't mind it, then you could appreciate the other parts which were, in my opinion, done well. So let's see where they take the story from here. If the main plot of the second movie is repeated attempts to escape the FO with the Falcon's malfunctions being a plot tool, and then capped off by a big reveal of family ties, then I think more will start falling in line with Vic.

No, I think you misunderstand me. The Mets are going to be wearing a total of 1986 uniforms throughout the season. Blue tops and white pants. Black tops and gray pants. Orange socks. ORANGE SOCKS! The combinations will seem endless, with the team changing several times during a given game, but will in fact top out at 1,986. Me: Ok. This sounds great. Can one of those combinations include First Responder hats for the 9/11 game? Powers that be: Absolutely not.

I don't know that this is a good idea. They're going to smell pretty bad even after just a game or two.

In 2014 some kid named Jacob deGrom came up and lit the world on fire. No one saw it coming. In 2015, a kid came straight from AA and tore up the league. Sure, he was a highly touted prospect, but no one ever expected him to contribute in 2015. Also our setup man was thrown into the closer role when Mejia was unexpectedly suspended for PEDs. He calmly gave us arguably the best season ever for a Mets reliever. They say every successful team has someone who exceeds expectations. Who will it be this year? Opportunities may be a bit more scarce as we start the year with the most complete Mets team I can remember. But there's a reason we have an injury thread. And I'm sure some spots will open up. Put your predictions here and earn the right to say "I told you so" in November.

Would have hoped Dom Smith would be higher. I guess we have to see if he develops into his power. Surprised to see Rosario on the list. I know the potential is there but he really hasn't proven a thing. Disappointed not to see Cecchini. I guess the rest of baseball isn't as high on him. Not surprised that Nimmo is not on the list. His stock has really fallen. I think the list looks pretty barren at first glance, but it would look a lot better with Conforto and Herrera mixed in. Basically the only reason they're not there is because they were too good not to be promoted.
