  1. Throw strikes Montero.

  3. Ok. Those of you who had Seth Lugo, come on down to the front and claim your prize.
  4. I don't know. I kinda really like Lugo. I'm thinking of asking him to go steady.
  5. I was against the trade and all, but I didn't think he would be this bad. Yeesh.
  6. Besides, our last game is Philly no? Any one of our starters should be able to beat Philly.

Bump him! Home field/court/ice advantage is the single most over-rated sports topic of the 21st century. Yup.
  8. Just gotta survive this series. After this the schedule lightens up. Come on Mets. Just tread water here.
  9. Challenge Terry. No lane was given.

Nice butt-kicking by the Brews to start things off but you get the feeling they probably shot their load and would have been better saving a couple of those runs. - Giants head to the desert for the first of three games. They're 10-6 vs the Snakes this year but 13-21 overall since Aug 1 and probably wishes Phoenix was still their old AAA affiliate - Pirates (now 4 full games behind us) hosting Reds for the 2nd of their four-game series Pitt won the opener Thursday - Marlins host the Dodgers just in time for the return from the DL of Clayton Kershaw ... mmmm, lucky them And, just for kicks, Washington takes their 8 game division lead against the Phils after being held to just five hits in a loss on Thursday but at five games out after losing 10 of 12, they're basically on the fringes of things anyway at this point Pretty weak competition all around. This is probably going to be a "try to hold serve" type of weekend. Gotta take care of business and hope that someone stumbles.
  11. Any confirmation on Atlanta's starter? ESPN has someone else.
  12. Thank you Pittsburgh. You may now resume your sucking ways. Milwaukee. Your services are required.
  13. Frayed Knot wrote: The film of this game ain't headed for Cooperstown ... but it's a sweep and that's all we needed. Suck on that scoreboard watchers in StL & SF!! Nothing better than an afternoon win to put the pressure on. Thank god we won. Imagine if they blew that lead and we had to think about it for two days.
  14. Amazing job Mets. I love playing in Cincy.
  15. I'm following on Gamecast. How close was that double to being a game-tying GS?
  16. And an off-day coming up.
  17. And yet again Terry waits too long to bring the hook. Understandable though, considering he only has 38 relievers left in the pen.
  18. Surprised to see Cespedes in today. Day game after a night game. Would have loved to get Conforto a start, but all three of those OF's smoked the ball last night.
  19. You know what Pittsburgh? Fuck yourself in your own ass.
  20. Big wins against Cincy. Cespedes doing it all. It feels like 2015.
  21. For a cheap deal he would probably prefer to go back to Pittsburgh no? It will be interesting to see if the Mets offer the QO.
  22. Did Gabriel Ynoa get the callup? Was interested to see him.
  23. I'm appreciating Cabrera too. He's hitting much better than I thought he would for this year. I think most of the backlash/confusion over the Cabrera signing was when we were under the impression that the Mets did not have the resources to bring back Yoenis. Once Yo was signed, much like the De Aza signing, a lot of that criticism became moot. Still, the thinking behind the criticism was and remains valid. Cabrera does not give a significant upgrade over Flores offensively (.791 OPS vs. .789). And as far as defense, though he catches everything he gets too, it's been painfully obvious that he has very limited range. But overall, very glad to have him on the team, and I hope he gets healthy soon.
  24. I worry about Montero in this small ball park. I wonder if it'll make him want to nibble even more, and increase his walk total. Let's score 23 runs just to be safe.
