  1. Jake may miss multiple starts according to Terry. It is what it is. So long as Seth Lugo stays healthy we should be ok.
  2. SETH FUCKING LUGO BITCHES.
  3. How fucking dumb is Jay Bruce
  4. I'm away and can't see the games. How does he look at the plate? Still fishing or more like 2015 Conforto?
  5. Any word on why Bruce didn't play? Just Terry's decision?
  6. Why are we pitching the guy with the ERA near 8?
  7. Terry's comments seem more in line with Neil. Sandy not so much. Can't imagine how one can think playing with a herniated disc doesn't risk further injury.
  8. Jose plays SS. Cabrera plays 2nd. Both are very familiar with the position. Flores and Johnson split 3rd. Let's hope Rivera can hit.
  9. Certainly brings his price down a bit. Maybe he takes a QO and hits the market again demonstrating his back is healthy? I can't believe we traded Dilson still.

  11. That Pittsburgh loss last night was soul-crushing.
  12. Rick was White. But Henry was not Blanco.
  13. Or ballplayers in general. I'm not picky. Was thinking Josh Smoker does a good job living up to his name. Neil Walker has an ok OBP, but might bolt as a free agent this winter, thus fulfilling his legacy. Butch was pretty Huskey, and Preston, once the adoption was complete, became Will's son.

One of the nice things I find about Bruce right now was that he was one of the most excited in celebrating with Yo last night after the walk off. Now, that doesn't count for anything in the box score, but it shows me something about him as a teammate and human. A guy in his position (a decent player who played his whole career in a smaller town and is traded to a big market contender and then suddenly stops producing altogether) might just as easily have gone moping after sitting two out of three games. I'm rooting for him to come up big soon. For many, many reasons. I saw this last night and thought the same thing. I think it has been the happiest I have been with Bruce since he's been here. Even including his HR's.
  15. (Why would you pitch to Cespedes there? Wtf)
  16. Well this went to shit fast. Cannot run a lineup out there like that. If only we had an outfielder tearing it up in AAA.
  17. Michael Conforto. 3 for 4 again. Yawn.
  18. 3.5 games out. 3 games against the Phils coming up. Sure, there are still a few teams to leap over, but stranger things have happened. More importantly, they've finally started hitting a bit. Probably get Bruce and Walker back tonight. If they call up Conforto, we can run this out there: 1. Reyes 3B 2. Walker 2B 3. Cespedes LF 4. Bruce RF 5. Conforto CF 6. Loney 1B 7. Cabrera SS 8. d'Arnaud C That's good enough to get it done. You can also move Bruce to 1B and run a Ruggiano/de Aza platoon. Flores is your super-sub. KJohnson is your LH bat, TJ Rivera comes from the right side. Let's win 20 in a row.
  19. Conforto 3-4 with a HR last night.

  21. Edgy MD wrote: I'm also not above putting him at first and telling him to make believe he knows what he's doing. Loney is steady, but I think we have more than a good idea what his ceiling is and it's not high enough. I'd be down with that too. Fuck man. We need some bats.
  22. I'd play Conforto to play over Granderson. Since the All-Star Break: Avg .180 OBP .239 SLG .336 OPS .575
  23. Edgy MD wrote: How can he keep a challenge from happening? Ask why it's necessary. There is no question the glove came off. So many times it seems like there is only one manager in the game. He should be out there advocating.
  24. I mean, at least get an explanation. WTF Terry.
