  1. Never lived up to the hype he had as a prospect but I loved watching him play anyway. When he first game up he seemed like one of those teens that had a growth spurt and wasn't really sure how long his limbs were. He was so young it might have been true. Class act. Happy guy. Never grumbled once about getting benched for Rosario. Still think he'll be really good someday. But not at walking. He'll never get that.
  2. =Centerfield post_id=51021 time=1605806369 user_id=65] I voted Springer and Lindor. I think Cleveland will find that there are not many suitors, and the Mets will be able to take advantage. I think we go second tier pitcher, McCann, then upgrade the pen with either Hand, Hendricks or both.
  3. This has to be one of the biggest trades in Mets history right? Piazza, Santana, Carter, Hernandez. I think this is top 5.

MY COUNTRY IS BROKEN BUT MY BASEBALL TEAM IS A BURGEONING DEATH STAR Yes, it feels weird to celebrate a crooked billionaire's re-shaping of my favorite baseball team BUT I NEED SOMETHING RIGHT NOW DAMMIT
  5. Holy crap. I love this trade. And I never love trades.
  6. Carrasco too. Giminez, and I'm sure more, going back.
  7. Lindor trade. Happening now per Jeff Passan.
  8. Lost in the collapse of our democracy is the fact that Sugano appears not to have signed anywhere. I guess he goes back to Japan and tries next year hoping for a better market.
  9. Gun to my head I'd guess this wasn't the first time, and that she had figured out a way to get some sort of recording or other evidence to arm herself with before filing an action. Likely this settles out of court and we'll never know.
  10. I wonder if the complaint alleges more than that one incident. I would guess you need more than that to be actionable. I kinda have this bias that this type of thing happens, like, a lot at those types of places.
  11. Jon Heyman disagrees. Says Mets focus is elsewhere. If true this is surprising. The Mets need a lot of pitching.
  12. I comfortable with a Bauer-less winter. Get me Springer, Sugano, Brad Hand and a reclamation project starter and I'm good. Lindor, Bryant or Arenado without giving up too much would be icing on the cake.
  13. I hope not. I imagine it would take about a month before we get hit with an injury and regret trading him. Besides. The DH will be full time in 2022, if not 2021.
  14. I like her stuff but that is a lot of filler in that article. Basically you can stop reading after the first 3 sentences.
  15. I think the Mets sign him. Not based on anything. Just a hunch.
  16. He then attacked Heyman on Twitter for reporting this. This guy might be a bit of a dick.
  17. No idea how it translates. Just going off the scouting report in the article that he'll end up somewhere between pre injury Tanaka, and Maeda. Pre-injury Tanaka was dominant. Maeda would probably be our second best starter.
  18. Vic Sage wrote: funny, then tragic, and beautiful all the way through. ScarJo's best performance. Agree with this.
  19. Maeda has a career ERA of 3.75 and WHIP of 1.110. If that is your floor he's better than a mid-rotation guy.
  20. How good were the prospects that went to Chicago? I feel like the Mets could have matched Davies with Steven Matz.

Would be cool to have a TCD style competition with 2020 pics.
  22. I wonder if the release fee counts against the luxury tax.
  23. Ann Margaret Nolan Ryan Reynolds Wrap the Chancer
  24. The world is falling apart, but the thread naming on CPF is as good as ever.
