  1. The batting helmet ad is as bad as i pictured them.
  2. Nice job by Marte. Let's get tough Severino.
  3. One last thought. I know this game didn't matter. But if this was a winner take all game, I think the Mets win it. Especially with Sale hurt.
  4. Hey, anyone else not getting nervous?
  5. I just read that you can make an injury replacement, but it has to be requested from the commissioner's office. The replacement has to be apples for apples (Pitcher replaces pitcher, position player for position player).
  6. When you miss the postseason by one game, you inevitably go back through the year thinking of all those games that slipped away. God knows I found myself doing that in 2007. 2008. Even 2022. This year it's nice to be on the winning side of it. When you win by tiebreaker, you think back to how we needed every single one of those breaks. The win in Toronto after being no-hit. That 8-0 lead that the DBacks blew against the Brewers. For me, I was thinking back to our trip to Phoenix in April. We watched the DBacks take on the Yankees. At that time we had no idea who would be in the playoff hunt, but we knew we wanted the Yankees to lose. Miserable game. The Yankees jumped out 5-0 and never looked back. "Let's go Yankees" chants all around us. Even on the walk back to the hotel. But if the Diamondbacks won that game, maybe they'd be in the playoffs and the Mets would be going home. Funny how life works. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/435318159_10232705808691379_2823528905803936224_n.jpg?stp=cp6_dst-jpg&_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=833d8c&_nc_ohc=GIOHKvUDc6wQ7kNvgE5wfma&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&oh=00_AYCugAk8QReCl5hCM-fp38RNc_v-r8sQ7QO9TKDiRYqjvg&oe=67020119> Ryan bought a DBacks hat that night and rooted hard for them to win. Stella said I'm not wearing no stinking Arizona hat and stayed true to her team.
  7. Can you option Kranick after game 1?
  8. Timo Perez Todd Pratt Daniel Murphy Ray Knight Darryl Hamilton Curtis Granderson

Has a much, much better bullpen. Three of those five losses to the Brewers were in March, when the Mets had a significantly different active roster. Are those odds for today's game or for the series? The Brewers have home field advantage, are better rested and have their rotation set up better. Momentum is junk science. Still, I say crapshoot.
  10. ESPN has the odds at winning as 64% for Milwaukee. That seems really high considering the pitchers are nearly a wash. Milwaukee is a division champion. Finished 4 games ahead of the Mets. Beat them 5 of 6 times this season. Has a much, much better bullpen. But the Mets have momentum. Advantage Mets.
  11. So we may never know the truth about Chris Sale. When did his back start acting up? You go back to last week, and maybe Sale's back was balky, which might be partly why Atlanta was so unwilling to move the games. Maybe they were hoping Sale would be ready for Monday. Alternatively, if the back just recently became an issue, then the Braves really fucked themselves by not moving the games. Not only did they not get to throw Sale, they decimated their pitching rotation with the end of season DH. They're not stuck with Ian Anderson for Game 1. Fried should be ready for Game 2, but if it goes 3, I don't know why they have left. Schwellenbach and Morton won't be ready.
  12. How are we feeling? Are we playing with house money? I'm sure I'll feel different once the game starts. But right now I'm just so happy to be here.

Most of the announcers treat it like a likely out right up until the time Taylor jumps on the wall. Keith seemed far more convinced that it was going than Gary did. I think Ron recognizes first.

  15. I don't get it. He wasn't troubled. It wasn't complicated. He was a pedophile. 12-14 year old girls. In deposition testimony his only defense was that he thought the girls were 16. Deserves no reverence or any of that crap. I hope his death was painful.
  16. Chad ochoseis wrote: Feels good to know that we won the game where both teams went all out, and they won the leftover game. Exactly right. Game one was the real game. The Braves backed in.
  17. Fuck off pedophile.
  18. We beat the Braves. Wow. I can't believe it.

  21. Terrific game. We were fortunate to get some help this weekend. One more win for the playoffs. Let's go get it.
  22. Hey. That wasn't scary.
  23. The IBB in a meaningless game for them is kind of a dick move. You wonder if the Brewers have a thing against the Mets and Cohen for poaching Stearns.
