    It's a funny thing to know that from 5 p.m to about 8, 8:15, I'll be feeling nothing but pure stress, and following that I'll either be elated or despondent and nothing in between.

McNeil, JD, and Lindor are all under .700 in OPS. McNeil might be washed, but the other two you'd think will end up significantly higher. Alonso's OPS is .715. That will improve. Nimmo's also below career norms at .744. But the others might be what they are. Marte, Baty, Alvarez, Bader. They kinda are what they've been. Maybe one of them will break out but you certainly can't bank on it. So far, the young guys on the farm aren't providing much hope. Jett Williams is injured and batting .179. Acuna's OPS is .595. Drew Gilbert is out until the end of this month with a hamstring. Maybe we call up Vientos and hope he's improved with the glove enough to stick around.

    I would have thought bench player would be Bader or Iglesias. Surprising. I guess "bench player" means something different now in the world with the DH. Outstanding work as always BG. Thank you for doing this!

Then back on the road for 4 @ SD 3 @ AZ 3 @ CWS Back home for 6 against Boston and Reds 3 @ Toronto 3 @ Phillies Back home for 6 against WAS and PHI 1 @ Atlanta 3 @ Milwaukee 2 @ Atlanta 3 @ Milwaukee 2 @ Philadelphia. 37 games away. 21 games at home. Brutal.

    Nola pitched pretty well in that September game, but I feel like he got rattled after the Alvarez HR. I said this whole series was gravy and I also said I'd be happy with a split coming out of Philly. But man, that loss was disappointing on Sunday. I feel like they had so many opportunities to put them away. All of that will be cured with a win tonight. But I definitely don't feel like this is a "house money" game.
