  1. Ok boys. If you have any magic left now would be a good time to see it.
  2. Can we please never hear from Smoltz again. I fucking hate him.
  3. Is JD hs lucky enough to walk here I'd PR for him and never put him back in.
  4. Turned it on to see we picked up right where we left off. Bad defense and walks.
  5. I hope they win. I'm gonna be super sad if they lose. It's not just losing the series. I don't want to get beat up at home. Go Mets!
  6. MLB has a way of gauging and tracking pitch framing. From what I remember, I think Alvarez was near the top of that list. I don't know if the difference between a good framer and a bad framer is significant. At the middle school/high school level, pitch framing is absolutely a thing. Most do it poorly, but a good pitch framer can steal lots of strikes from the average umpire.
  7. ESPN Odds: Mets: 50.1% Dodgers: 49.9%

It's hard not to think of that game. I was thinking, before yesterday's game, that the Mets might have a chance to get that three games to one lead that had been denied them in 1988. I was thinking how this series has been reverse 1988 so far. So it should be the Mets denying LA a 3-1 lead tonight. At least I hope so. Did you guys see all the weird quirky stuff about why the Mets should advance? 1. The last however many teams that beat the Brewers all went to the WS. 2. The last 5 teams that were beat 9-0 in Game 1 all went in to win that series 3. And we're in the first year after firing Buck Showalter. Though I think Baltimore blew that for us.
  9. The 1988 Dodgers trailed the vastly superior Mets 2-1 heading into Game 4 of that NLCS. No one was giving the Dodgers much of a chance, and were already talking about a Mets-Oakland matchup in the World Series. If I remember correctly, Dodgers twitter was all over Tommy Lasorda, demanding that light-hitting Mike Scioscia be benched.
  10. Zero confidence going into this game. I have stupid work event too. So I'll miss most of this.
  11. The season didn't end tonight. But it may well realistically end tomorrow. Big hole. Pitching matchup not as favorable. Just see what happens I guess.
  12. This is as hopeless as I've felt about this team. The starting pitching is cracking. They likely overachieved. Lindor is slowing down. Nimmo is hurt. Half the lineup looks lost and Pete is showing he's never going to be a guy to carry a team.
  13. Edgy MD wrote: Does pinch-hitting for Taylor mean Nimmo is gonna take his hobbledliness to center? I'm guessing we see Bader.
  14. Frayed Knot wrote: Good AB there by JDM Walk is the best possible outcome. Lots of things went wrong today. But leaving two lefties on the bench was the start of it.
  15. Btw. Nimmo needs to DH. You can't run him out there when he looks this bad. Mendy needs to be smart here.
  16. So many walks. Eventually the Mets pitchers will figure out this lineup won't chase. Hopefully before it's too late.
  17. Ok. Everyone change something. Sit someplace else. Change clothes. We need new vibes.
  18. Understood. But JD has been swinging and missing at that pitch for two months now. Enough is enough.
  19. Mets are chasing everything. Lineup looks lost. JD shouldn't play again.
  20. Great job. That could have been the beginning of the end for the Mets. Let's get it back.
