Need to go to the bathroom? -- Tough, wait until next inning. No walking is allowed (or aloud) at this time! I went to the new YS for the first time earlier this year (the Harvey start) and for some reason made a concerted effort to look at my section to see if any security and/or ushers were blocking folks from leaving/re-entering their section. And at least in my section people were free to come and go. So I guess the stadium has that going for it.
  2. FWIW, Alexa did the sideline duties for Fordham Basketball on SNY (yes, I'm the guy who watched), and she wasn't bad. Then again I have little use for sideline reporters of any variety. it's very Mushnick-y of me.

Padres 1, Mets 0.
  4. When there are already three guys in the booth (at least usually) I think the crowd guy (Gelbs, Guys) is superfluous. Like Gary has to throw it to him to justify the guy's salary.
  5. Ripken Griffey Aaron Mays
  6. On TV, Colon's ovation sounded pretty good too.

  8. AJ Pierzynski still kicking around?

  12. That's a track the buggies are parked on, right? I might lean LA Coliseum. That is indeed a telling detail. Plus w/o an Alouettes helmet and a time machine, we'd have to eliminate the Big O. Perhaps here is our answer: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/96536-super-bowl-vii-giant-mini-helmets/

  14. The way most of the organization is speaking this spring about how this is the year the team makes the leap, Terry included, I'd have to think a 15-28 start or something similar would have Terry feeling the heat. But I don't expect a 15-28 start, and I don't expect Terry to go anywhere.
  15. What's so Metsy about the two stills below from the same Seinfeld episode? What's going on at the diner and what's the Mets connection? And what and why is George singing as he's coming on in to Jerry's place? [fimg=733]https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8590/16614190975_0cf488fb32_o.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=683]https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8626/16614191105_9f4b48f22a_o.jpg[/fimg] Educated guess due to faulty memory: The two men are Met front office guys looking to steal George away from the Yankees. Does he sing Meet the Mets?
  16. Edgy MD wrote: It kinda looks like a steal, only because the catcher and the runner seem to come together a lot like Berra and Robinson. But it probably is just an otherwise typical play at the plate. The pitcher seems to be watching a throw come in from the left. So, is that YSI? I don't know...you can see the dirt kicking up almost inside the third base line. If it was a throw from the outfield, wouldn't the runner be wide of the baseline, coming around third? Unless it's a tag-up play, which would make sense. But why isn't the pitcher backing up the play? And why is there a batter seemingly lurking right around the batters box? Is he the on-deck guy?
  17. Chuck Knoblauch takes aim at the Bronx. I know, glass houses, stones... But I laughed.
  18. If I had the moolah here's where I might go. Padres UNDER 84. I like that they were aggressive in re-hauling their team but those dramatic re-hauls don't always pay dividennds in year 1. They've also got 19 games each with SF and LAD. Reds UNDER 79. Just a gut feeling they are heading for a fall. Giants OVER 85. They have won 3 WS in five years. Maybe this is their down year. But if teh NYY had won 3 titles in five years, you really think their over/under would be 85? Blue Jays UNDER 83.5. Because they always seem to under achieve. NYY OVER 80. Would love to see them crash and burn, but: I think the AL East is full of paper tigers; I think if they are close, they will make a deal to keep them in the hunt; and the last two years have had an annoying quality of playing above their pythagoreum
  19. I don't consider this a huge marketing misstep, but I also don't think the change in the scoreboard is dramatic enough to warrant a major announcement from the team.
  20. Mets Willets Point wrote: All of these candidates will be elected in 2019 alongside Jeter. Because he makes everyone beside him on the ballot better. Please. We'll all be sickened by the sheer volume of "Jeter should go in by himself" articles come 2019.
  21. Two guys named Max and Mallex; and two guys named Peterson. Maybe if we threw in Rick Peterson we would have had a shot.
  22. Profar is still only 21? Feels like he's been a prospect forever. I'm still reluctant to part with Noah. That may turn out to be a mistake, but right now I say no.
  23. RealityChuck wrote: Wow, a baseball player gets pissed off at his manager and swears at him. This is certainly the first time this had happened, and I'm sure Terry will need years of therapy to get over hearing such an offensive word, especially since he undoubtedly never heard anyone use it before, or ever had a player curse at him. This will probably scar him for life! Or longer! Why on Earth is this news? We've seen stuff like this before...someone from the team leaked this "story" to Harper. Why, who knows? But it leaves the appearance that someone in the organization wanted to smear Niese, whether that was the intention or not.
