  1. You can do that? He never touched the bag.

  4. Not Ojeda. A contemporary of his, though.
  5. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: The "leaving 22 guys" part is interesting. It sounds like he's saying that there are two players that he'll be glad to leave behind. There's also another way to read that. Ah, he was part of a 3-guy trade. When was the last time the Mets traded 3 guys at once? Hmmmmm Here's a clue (kinda): the player is correct that he left 22 guys behind; JCL is incorrect that the Mets traded 3 guys at once.

You pitch for a club four and a half years, you're part of the club and responsible for part of its success. I didn't pitch effectively all the time. But I'm looking forward now to a new opportunity.'' Bolding the context clues.
  7. You're on the right trackbut he was not part of 3-player trade.
  8. Not Armando.

  10. Not Billy! Try not to concentrate too much on the "I didn't pitch effectively all the time" part of the quote. He's actually given us two clues earlier.
  11. Not Pedro.

  13. Mazzilli?

  15. Ripken seems so out of touch with the modern game. Now I hope the Nationals hire him.

  17. Benjamin Grimm wrote: There are ten players who have played both for and against the Mets in postseason games. Name as many as you can. I was trying to think of players who might be added to the list this year. I may very well be overlooking someone, but the only one I can think of is Carlos Beltran, if we end up with another Subway Series. Didn't realize it until last night, but you have overlooked Oliver Perez as a potential addition to this list.
  18. Chris Archer was actually really good in the booth. Learned more from him in 2 innings that I ever would from Kruk.
  19. I hope Carlos didn't bother Girardi and break some unwritten rule by hitting that ball about 450 feet
  20. Before tonight, the Astros were the only team who had faced the Mets in the postseason but had not faced the Yanks in October.
  21. Mendoza is decent as an analyst. But not great. She sounds like she had insight but is at times hesitant to state an original opinion. This is where a 3-person booth probably hurts her, especially since Schulman/Kruk have been working together much longer. She's learning and will get there.
  22. Traffic was SOOOOO bad that only 24 of the 25 guys were able to make it to the stadium.
  23. I sort of understand Friday because all four games are taking place and they don't want games competing with each other, and the game is in LA. But with only 2 games Saturday, that game could start before 9 ET. I got a Mets-crazy 12-year old and he has my permission on a weekend to watch these games, but who knows if he'll make it.

  25. Keuchel vs the MFYs this year: 2-0, 16 IP, 0 ER, 1 BB, 21 K. I think his last start was the game where Carlos Gomez broke the unwritten rules and hurt Girardi's feelings or something. Now that said, Keuchel is going on 3 days rest; and his overall numbers on the road aren't all that great.
