  1. Harvey serves up homers like no other Fun fact for sportsfan882: Matt Harvey vs. Washington in 2015: 27 2/3 IP, 0 HR allowed.
  2. Started out poorly with the team as I recall, then flamed out badly in the '06 postseason. Makes it easy for some fans to forget that he was largely dependable in between (especially for a guy brought in to be a lower part of the rotation pitcher). Don't discount that sometimes watching him pitch was painful. He made watching AL East games seem fast.
  3. And the Home Run was to the opposing pitcher.
  4. I liken my exuberance to that of a long road trip to someplace cool, and you finally start to see road signs for your destination. Content to know we're close to where we want to be, excited for the possibilities, but subdued because I know there's a chance we'll hit traffic before we get there.
  5. Re: Smoak's grand slam on Saturday. Daily News per Elias says that is the first grand slam by a Blue Jay in the Bronx...ever. Which seems unbelievable.

  7. Had to google Chris. Not very memorable.

  9. Royals not messing around.
  10. That was fast.
  11. Not sure how Clippard is throwing this year, but he always seemed like a guy who could come out of the pen and have success against both righties and lefties and if you had to get more than one inning out of him you could. Plus he owes us for the May '07 Sunday night start he had for the MFYs against us.
  12. Die-hard Heart fans would probably disagree, but I didn't mind their keyboards-and-ballads phase in the mid-80s.
  13. I thought for sure that Baerga was an interloper. But he actually hung around long enough to play in DC in their first year down there.
  14. Edgy is on fire in this thread. First I love the week off idea; They already take four days. My only concern there is extending the season, but they could figure out something. Second the Brandon Crawford story is outstanding. I showed the pic and gave the background to Little Solo and he actually figured it out.
  15. I was having fun listening to Keith last night. The game itself? No fun.
  16. Tangent. I actually worked on the print/TV campaigns for that book when it first came out.
  17. Adam Laroche
  18. ADrian Gonzalez
  19. Big Prince
  20. Teixeira

  22. While we are fixing errors, I edited the thread title. The least I could have done was spelled the guy's name right.
  23. Awful news. http://deadspin.com/former-ballplayer-darryl-hamilton-found-dead-in-apparen-1713087146

Suxx to lose a perfect game that way but it would suck even more to start calling that now after not seeing that call for maybe decades. Since Dick Dietz. And yes, I made this post because I really wanted to type Dick Dietz.
  25. Yeah I do t get the hook for Jacob there.
