    =Centerfield post_id=193898 time=1748454432 user_id=65] 4-0 is basically insurmountable for this offense.

Has there been a Luis Robert Jr. sighting in the series? I haven't noticed. I guess the Sox aren't showcasing him. Maybe we'll see him as a pinch runner. He IS leading the AL in stolen bases with 21. Later

Speaking of sucking, remember during the last free agent signing period when there were posts about wanting Anthony Santander? (mine included) I just checked him out to see if not signing him was a good decision. His slash line is .189/ .274/ .320/ .594 with 6 HR and 18 RBI in almost 200 AB. He'd be right there on our suck list. Later

I confused Rod Nichols with Reid Nichols , who was an outfielder who spend 8 years in the majors, mostly with the Red Sox. Reid is still alive. Later

C'mon, Mets. These are the freakin' WHITE SOX! Don't make this hard. These are the freakin' WHITE SOX! Beating them should be as easy as stopping an F-18 from rolling off the deck of an aircraft carrier. You got this. LGM Later

Frayed Knot wrote: Is this the first time for the poppy on the uni for Memorial Day? Both teams are wearing the same one so I assume this is a league-wide deal. I tend to think of the poppy symbol as more an English (and therefore also Canadian) tradition for 'Remembrance (Veterans) Day' but not so much an American thing. I remember veterans giving out Poppies for at least 30 years. I used to see them on the main road near my dad's house in Newberg and have seen them for years in front of the supermarket in our town. Of course, they are asking for donations to various Vet's causes. They did it on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. Later

Young brings defensive versatility and has played both infield and outfield (even pitched a bit). Maybe he was brought up a precaution in case Vientos' injury was serious. Later

I don't care if Blackburn stays in Syracuse until his beard is down to his knees. Right now this team needs another starting pitcher like it needs a third nostril. They need some hitters. I hope Mauricio will soon provide that offensive spark. Later

Time for some Psy-ops. Make Kershaw think this is an NLCS playoff game and he'll be a bowl of jelly. Later

Nice! That compares to some of the article headlines in The Sporting News when it was The Sporting News. Later

As the saying goes, water seeks its own level. By the end of the year, both the hitting and pitching will move toward their norms. I expect a lot of 5-4 games (either way) down the stretch. Later

Every time I say that Marte isn't good anymore, he has a good game. So, hoping the pattern holds, Marte sucks. Later

=Cowtipper post_id=193293 time=1747781861 user_id=166] The Mets are still waiting for Manaea, Blackburn and Montas to come back. They were all expected to play meaningful roles.
