  1. Four different stops in the minors this year. His last game was at St. Lucie. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=gibbon002mic Nice start to your career, Kid. Later
  2. I can't. I've already adopted him. But I would like to see an organization sign him. Later
  3. Buena Suerte, Cesar. I hope you sign with an AL team and spend the next 10 years beating the crap out of the MFYs. Later
  4. Still holding his own at Binghamton. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=660874#/career/R/pitching/2015/ALL Later
  5. And he won a Teen Choice Award: http://www.aceshowbiz.com/events/Skylar%20Astin/skylar-astin-teen-choice-awards-2015-press-room-01.html Oh, wait ... Later
  6. My kid picked up his second win in relief last night, pitching two scoreless innings for Savannah. His record is 2-0, 5.40. Later
  7. Edgy MD wrote: Wow. This got some of the most vicious reviews I've seen in a while. When I saw the trailer, I knew there was no way I would want to see the movie. Well, one reviewer did, and here's his (now viral) review: http://moviebob.blogspot.com/2015/07/pixels-2015-review-text-version.html Later
  8. themetfairy wrote: The kid is en route to being Met 1000 tonight! And soon to be #1 in our hearts. Later
  9. He's back! He's back! Signed with Las Vegas after a stint in Korea. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/106822/mets-re-sign-zach-lutz-assign-to-vegas And I'm singing: How you gonna' keep 'em gone for so long After they've had kim-chee? Later

Now that Kirk has turned the corner towards superstardom we don't need any LH-hitting OFs so they should just deal Conforto off for 70 games worth of Justin Upton. And if SD won't take that then throw that injury-prone Matz guy into the deal. Get it done, Sandy! Didn't I hear you today on WFAN? About eleven times? Later
  11. So far today, he is 2 for 2 and has thrown out a runner at the plate. Later
  12. After a one game promotion to PSL, my kid is now at Binghamton. He started last night. He lost, but he pitched ok, giving up 3 runs in six innings. On the fast track? Later
  13. themetfairy wrote: Ashie62 wrote: I like Conforto better than Cuddyer. Who doesn't? Nobody. In fact, Cuddyer's mother would have adopted Conforto if you hadn't. Later
  14. Lefty Specialist wrote: They should worry because whatever's happening doesn't particularly seem to care if they're Jewish or not. You're right. In fact, they're probably wondering WTF is happening. Anyhow, I prefer more believable, mature movie themes. I can't wait for Sharknado 3. Later
  15. So, the actors are playing themselves? Jay Baruchel (I had to look him up) has one Orthodox Jewish Grandfather and is a "self proclaimed agnostic". Seth Rogen is Jewish. He attended a Talmud Torah and his parents met on a Kibbutz. So, why are they concerned about "the Rapture"? It wasn't in the Bible of their (grand)fathers. Were they traumatized by moving from Canada to the United States? Lorne Greene and William Shatner weren't. Whatever the cause, why should they worry? Feh. A Shonda! Later (I'm removing my tongue from my cheek now, but still won't see this. Sounds dumb.)
  16. Welcome to the family, kid. http://wheatoncollege.edu/quarterly/2015/03/29/outstanding-in-his-field/ He went right to High A ball, and pitched seven scoreless innings last night in his professional debut. Later
  17. It really flopped at the box office. I mean really! One theater in Arizona reported a ticket sale of $9.00. Yes, that's nine whole, entire, dollars for the house. Total gate is way under $1 million. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of assholes who financed a movie to show the world how good they are. (Yes, it was financed by the guys at FIFA themselves) Snicker. Later
  18. From the BA Prospect Hot Sheet: 4. Wuilmer Becerra, rf, Mets Team: low Class A Savannah (South Atlantic) Age: 20 Why He’s Here: .448/.467/.759 (13-for-29), 9 R, 4 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 5 RBIs, 1 BB, 5 SO The Scoop: It probably will never be known as “The Wuilmer Becerra Trade.” When the Mets traded R.A. Dickey to the Blue Jays after the 2012 season, the two prized prospects they received were Noah Syndergaard and Travis d’Arnaud. They also got the Blue Jays to include Becerra, who had just finished his pro debut in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League. He had been a high-profile prospect in Venezuela the year before, when he signed for $1.3 million, but his first pro season was cut short when he had to have his jaw wired shut after getting hit in the face with a pitch. He has put himself back on the prospect radar by hitting .283/.325/.489 through 50 games at Savannah. Later
  19. The much anticipated "Big One" strikes the West Coast. The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) is an L.A. emergency worker trying to save his family during a 9.6 earthquake and resultant tsunami that hits California along the San Andreas Fault. There have been similar stories in made-for-TV movies on the Sci-Fi Channel. But this one has a better script, much bigger special effects budget, and, believe it or not, better acting. (OK, that last one's not too hard.) Personally, I would rather have seen it totally devastate Chavez Ravine where they took the team I used to root for. But most of the movie takes place in San Francisco, so seeing it hit ATT Park was partial solace. Later
  20. My kid made his 2015 debut last night for PSL. He went 1 IP, 0 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 K, WP. Later
  21. FSL player of the week. http://www.amazinavenue.com/2015/6/1/8700541/mets-prospect-smith-named-florida-state-league-player-of-the-week Later
  22. He went 4-4 with a triple and 3 RBI last night, raising his BA to .270. Later
  23. He has been called up. Congrats! Later
  24. He went 3-5 tonight, including a double and 4 RBI. The avg. is up to .187. Later
  25. My kid's off to a so-so start at Savannah. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=610141#/career/R/hitting/2015/ALL From today's minor league report in SBNation: Okay, it's thirteen games, but the power is there, the Ks haven't been egregious, and the tools are loud. So far so good in the jump to full-season ball. Beard needs work though. Later
