  1. Janis Joplin must have been a Mets Fan. Enjoy, Later ************************************************** Oh Lord, Wont the two thousand ten season end? The other teams torch us, the scars never mend There are holes in the lineup, they need help in the pen. Oh Lord, heal their linrup, so next year theyll contend. Oh Lord, I cant even watch games on TV. The games have become too gruesome to see. Their winning streaks rarely reach up to three. Oh Lord, I cant even watch games on TV.. Oh Lord, why do you look down with a frown? They could make any one of their fans feel like a clown Theyre so uninspired, one day up, one day down. With just some of Your love, they could own this town. Oh, Lord, Wont the two thousand ten season end? The Mets cant hit fast balls, Nor pitches that bend. Rooted hard all my lifetime, no Yankee fans are my friends So Lord, can't You make this this year mercifully end?
  2. No, I was surprised because they didn't mention it on the Bisons post game show last night, like they had announced when Duda and Mejia were to be called up. And they still have a few more games to play, with a slim chance at the playoffs. If he were to be called up, I'd thought they would wait intil their season is over. Here's his record: http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=nickea001mic Later
  3. Didn't see that one coming. Don't know where they're getting all these spots on the 40 man roster. Later

They spilled oil all over the Gulf of Mexico after all. And when the season is over, Derek Jeter will make whatever oil is remaining disappear. Later
  5. If he wants to play Bridge, I'll be his partner anytime. Of course, I'd have to be on the team first. Later
  6. Got a report saying that not only is the foot ok (it was different from his prior foot injuries) but that he has been brought up to Buffalo to replace Duda. Later
  7. Another name on the list, Zach Lutz, has been promoted to Buffalo to replace Duda. Later
  8. When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought there had been problems with the site, and someone had restored a 5 year old copy of the database. Later
  9. I expect to see Green, since his minor leage rehab peroid is over. And, Dillon Gee might get called up. You may have missed this, but earlier this year he set a modern day Buffalo record for most strikeouts in a season. The hitters have been missing a lot of his pitches, but connecting on a lot of them, too. His ERA is around 4.50, so I'm not sure if we'll see him as a starter. 11. Welcome to the bigs, kid. You're on your own now. I'm kicking you out of the house. But you're always welcome to stop by and pay a visit. Later
  12. Uh, Edgy, did you copy and update a prior chart? Bowman wasn't in the Mets organization this year. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=bowman001sha Later
  13. So, the Mets are getting a guy who was DFAd by a team that signed Alex Cora. Not a glowing recommendation. I wonder if he has to be added to the 40 man roster. Later
  14. Confirmed on the post-game radio show. Later
  15. Last night's start, his first in AAA: 8 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 9 K, 1 HR, 10-2 GB-FB, 1.13 ERA And a no decision. Later
  16. A pal, and fellow Mets fan, in New Orleans heard that two hurricaines are approaching the North East. Here's what he sent : SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR EARL AND FIONA For my friends on the east coast. 1) Candles, matches, batteries, flashlight 2) Non-perishable food and water for at least 4 days 3) Fill your vehicles with gasoline 4) Tape your windows or board them up 5) Ice with ice chest 6) Beer 7) Hurricane or Pina Colada mix 8) Rum 9) Chainsaw with full gas can 10) Condoms if needed UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO WATCH A METS GAME (due to an increased risk of suicide by running out into the hurricane naked) He survived Katrina, so I guess he had the right formula.
