  1. On the 100th anniversary of Fenway park, both teams wore retro-style uniforms*. Doesn't look like they've been using the dead ball. Later * forget the thread, but someone here mentioned the Yanks wearing them. Sure enough, I heard one of their toadies on radio say how this was a demonstration of the team's sense of History.
  2. The comeback wasn't working out. He announced his retirement. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/players/playerpage/1666196/rss Shame. Later
  3. At least it wasn't another Death to Disco Night. Later
  4. I think it depends on if Snooki is in the stands. (I remember when there used to someone to act as the emergency goalie in the stands in civvies during hockey games. It was usually an amateur, practice player and, IIRC, a sportswriter at Ranger games in the old MSG.) Later
  5. Funny how YLDBs suggest Piazza was a user because of bacne, but never question Paul O'Neill. Aside from the frequent temper tantrums that might be attributed to 'roid rage, his skin looked like a topographic map of a lunar landing site. Later
  6. Nope. Nobody took the Cards off my hands. I'm still taking them. Later

It should be either noon or midnight. I agree. But I fear that will happen right around the time the Canadians stop measuring home runs in Meters, gas in Liters and temperature in Celsuis. When I read the attendance at Jays games, I wonder how many people that is in American numbers. Later
  8. Thanks guys. Missed it. Later
  9. TOHO? S'plain please, Lucy. Later

He began not knowing himself the details of the "celebration" and even after being informed it was a short video just like dozens of others they'd done before, left that part out. After all the alternatives to discuss were a great win by the Mets or an awful game for the MFYs. Dick. Mike suffers from ORD - Obsessive Repulsive Disorder Later

We'll know its over when Minka wears a Mets hat. I betcha' Anna Kournikova wears one because she's never had a Mets fan. I volunteer to turn her from the dark side. Later
  12. If they were going to show him how much they loved him, a video tribute costs less than a new contract. Later
  13. Edgy DC wrote: Very strange. I mean, while the guy is quiet, to the extent that he does express himself verbally and non-verbally, he's pariticularly expressive about his Puertorriquenisimo. He's spoken about not merely being Puerto Rican, but being Aguadillano. His politics are PR-centered. His charity work is PR-centered. He's represented Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic. His hero is Roberto Clemente. But the announcers for America's Team said he was Panamanian, so it must be so. Why were they discussing Carlos Delgado at all? Later
  14. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: DILLON GEE HAS STRIKEOUT WEAPONRY? Yowza. Not that surprising. As has been mentioned here before, Gee set a modern Buffalo franchise pitching record for strikeouts in a season. Good win. Later
  15. Ceetar wrote: Think this trial finishes up before the 2013 Hall of Fame vote? If not, should they be pleading the case in moot court. IMO, a conviction serves a dual purpose. 1) Put the fat coward, bat tossing motherfucker in jail. 2) Keep the fat coward, bat tossing motherfucker out of the Hall. Later
  16. Nice pictures, MF. Michigan, isn't it in the rules somewhere that all photos of downtown skylines taken from baseball parks must include a Budweiser sign? It may be a law in some States. Later
  17. Also, at his current rate, Tejada might pass the single season team record for doubles by the 4th of July. Later
  18. This was a bad night for Philly teams that played against teams that have nicknames ending with "ets". Later

  20. Has Roy Oswalt signed with a (new) team yet? Later
  21. Edgy, your kid is finally back in the saddle. He went 1-3 for St. Lucie last night. Later
  22. Happy Birthday, Roger. While you were in town helping us remember the first ever Mets game, I hope you stopped by the bullpen and taught Mike Pelfrey that pitch you taught to Mike Scott and other hurlers. Later
  23. It took 46 years for this baseball oddity to be equalled. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/jonathan-broxton-becomes-first-pitcher-46-years-hit-020037455.html Later
  24. Any word on the results of the X-Rays yet? If the DL, any official announcement on the replacement? Later
