Also, I think it unlikely that the Mets would agree to always going on the road for two prime weeks in August. They seem to always have the Mets on the road for one of the two weeks overlap with Tennis which seems a fair compromise. (Maybe it should always be the first week of the open).

    Only superstars get an 8 year deal. And that is based on how team management views him. So that would be off the table for him. He's not at that point yet. But if he stays this hot for the rest of the year, and at his age, a four or five year deal is certainly a possibility for Vientos. Later

    Looking at that lineup reminds me that I heard that Winker and Siri will be starting their first rehab games today for St. Lucie (low A). I'm not sure if they would replace anyone full time, but maybe Winker could platoon with Marte. Later

    It was announced today that Alvarez may start a rehab assignment this Thursday or Friday, with hopes he could rejoin the team in early September. I never heard which thumb was injured*, but the report said they will be monitoring both his hitting and catching. The report also didn't specify which level they'll be sending him to, but hopefully AAA, so we can get a report from Fmann. * = OE: the injury is to his right thumb, so they will also have to see if he can grip the ball well enough to throw.     They are not directed at anyone here. I post them as a commentary about the people who would vote for Trump and change them based on the news of the day or things I find that I think are clever. (The slide head first one was an exception, but I thought it was funny after reading that thread) If you took them any other way, that's not what I intend. Later
