  1. The Rumble Ponies were in a rumble tonight: https://www.nj.com/mets/2022/04/mets-double-a-pitching-prospect-takes-punch-to-head-in-minor-league-brawl.htmlhttps://www.nj.com/mets/2022/04/mets-double-a-pitching-prospect-takes-punch-to-head-in-minor-league-brawl.html And Bret Baty was taken out mid-game. I'm not sure if he was tossed out by the ump or injured in the brawl. Later
  2. He wouldn't be eating a blintz. Passover isn't over yet. Later
  3. Edgy MD wrote: That tweet doesn't mention the mouth full of cheese blintz. Why do you think that's what he's eating? Later
  4. On the list of all-time Mets managers that ranks them by games won/lost who gets the loss? Do each of the managing coaches get one-third of a loss? We need a ruling on this. Later
  5. They could hire Tim McCarver on a one day contract. It would be a fitting way to honor him. And he always felt he could manage better than the guys actually doing it. So why not? It might be fun. Later
  6. Edgy MD wrote: I think it looks more like a stylized bird's-eye view of someone's cleavage in a cone bra. You must have some really fun answers when you take a Rorschach Test. Later
  7. Lefty Specialist wrote: Okay, it's time to sit Cano down, Buck. Just because he's getting old you want to put him down? Oh, wait. Never mind. Later
  8. We won't beat you up. In fact, this mental gymnastics judge gives you a 10.0 score. You get ten not only for writing performance but also a ten for degree of difficulty. We understand why your fingers had a hard time typing it. And you get a third ten for originality. You have proposed something not mentioned here before. Later
  9. The kid has cooled off a bit. He's "down" to .375/.429/1.000 - a 1.429 OPS. His counting stats include 3 doubles and 4 home runs with 10 RBI in six games (the manager didn't put him in the lineup in two games). Later
  10. Lefty Specialist wrote: I think they've Sean Reid-Foley-proofed this game. I'm not sure that's possible. Later
  11. I wonder when Paul is going to realize that all those steroids he took as an MFY aren't going to protect him against COCID. Later
  12. A lot of Mets-Phillies games seem to be like this since that "Damn Game". Later
  13. =nymr83 post_id=89336 time=1649882668 user_id=54] Fangraphs is both fun and depressing. Since 2001, the NYM Bullpen ranks: -20th in Wins -4th in Losses (ie 4th most Losses credited to a reliever in the past 20 years behind only Tampa, Colorado, and Florida)
  14. Willets Point wrote: Just let's not glitch this five-run lead away here. Especially since they should've had something closer to a 12-run lead with all the scoring opportunities they've had. Be patient. One day (hopefully soon), Francisco Alvarez will turn those "bases loaded, catcher coming up" situations into grand slams. Later
  15. When you roll up your windows because there's a kid's orchestra playing badly around you, it may not keep the noise out of your luxury car. Later
  16. Disney Plus bought the rights to old 20th Century Fox movies, including Rocky Horror Picture Show. Does that make Dr. Frank N. Furter the latest evil Disney queen? Later
  17. We now have an official baseball season. He's BAAAACK! https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/reds-braves-angel-hernandez-ripped-for-more-bad-calls?fbclid=IwAR16OpdKRqrc8tC8oWpnAFJxzX6ZbmgHZKNZSMZpscJsxKeIBUfqq8X4uUshttps://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/reds-braves-angel-hernandez-ripped-for-more-bad-calls?fbclid=IwAR16OpdKRqrc8tC8oWpnAFJxzX6ZbmgHZKNZSMZpscJsxKeIBUfqq8X4uUs Later
  18. Three homers in three games. He went 2-4 in the Binghamton home opener (with 3 RBI), "dropping" his average to .538. Later
  19. Edgy MD wrote: I think it'll be OK. We checked. I believe this was the only scheduled weekend series for Binghamton at Hartford this year. If it weren't for another family event, I would have driven over an hour to get there, talking to my grandson about Alvarez all the way, only to get there and not seen him. From past Binghamton visits, I know there are a lot of disappointed Mets fan families who were there today. I'm pissed now, but I would really have been pissed if we had made the trip and not seen him. Later
  20. And on the third day ... he was rested. The manager sat him. Is it the "day game after night game " thingie? If it is, sheesh - the kid is 20 and we're talking the third game of the season. Let's see what the kid can do because he'll have to do it (catch day games after night games) when he reaches the majors. And if you don't want to have him catch, there's this newfangled rule called the DH that will let him bat. And everyone who has heard or read about him wants to see him get as many at bats as possible. Wassup? Inquiring minds want to know. Later
  21. Her hit his second home run in his second AA game. Do we detect a pattern here? Later
  22. He had a nice first game at AA last night, 3-5 with two doubles and a home run. Later
  23. Both players are fighting through the pressure of our poll. Vientos drove in the first run of the season for Syracuse last night and Baty his a home run in Binghamton's first game tonight. Binghamton is visiting Hartford, and if I didn't have to work tonight, I'd have been there. (rats!) Later
  24. Frayed Knot wrote: And two pitches and in the game is over as a 23 hopper sneaks up the middle. So, they're still doing things that remind the fans of Derek Jeter? That kind of MFY hit should be named in his honor. Later
  25. I our hearts, Pete Alonso is our real Adonis. Later
