1. Not a good start. Later
2. Frayed Knot wrote: Baez had, By Far, the highest OBA of his career during his (partial) season as a NYM (.371 vs nothing better than .326) I noticed that after Edgy's post. Thanks. Later
3. Looking back on his numbers, you're probably right. Later
4. Frayed Knot wrote: The major crime in that inning was plunking Baez with a 1-2 pitch (the 0-2 pitch was poor too). Other than that, the mis-played bloop in RF set it all up. When he was with the Mets he would have had to bribe someone to get on base three times in a game, and he's scored three runs today. Bah! Later
5. I like being wrong when it turns out like that. Later
6. Alvarez is the hotter batter. He is 6-for-17 (.353) with a home run and three RBIs over his last seven games. If he isn't going to catch against the lefty, why not DH him?(Although I can't argue that after what Canha did) Later
7. Why not Alvarez against the lefty? The second game starter for Detroit is a righty. Later
8. =kcmets post_id=124183 time=1683130933 user_id=53] I'm back from the twilight zone.
9. Players are always being asked for something (selfie, autograph) so I can see how they appreciate being given something. Later
10. My Canadian baseball fan friend (coincidentally named Greg Rogers) spells it Rogers Centre. Rogers is a big Canadian telecom company and he always complains to them about his monthly cable bill. He thinks he should get a discount because of his name. When I was a kid, I liked to draw pictures of the major league baseball parks. Now, I can't even name half of them. Later
11. =ashie62 post_id=124117 time=1683054022 user_id=90] Who are the only two Major Leaguers to homer, play in the field and earn a win in the same game?
12. There are two players who seem to show up on the IL every year. I wonder who will miss more games this year, DeGrom or Giancarlo Stanton. Later
13. =kcmets post_id=124065 time=1682987569 user_id=53] =MFS62 post_id=124063 time=1682984268 user_id=60] If you can't beat a team with Chadwick Tromp, you can't beat anybody.
14. Edgy MD wrote: Sean Murphy really would have had no business missing that pitch. It reminded me of your comment a few days ago about the difference in productivity of the catchers of both teams. Later When his thread reemerged, I realized it was FK who noted this. Later

16. I watch it every time it comes on. The music inspired my wife and me to take hustle dance lessons which we never ended up using. I guess we got hustled. A side note, the song "Manhattan Skyline" was written by my cousin, David Shire (yes, married to actress Talia). For several years, it was used on national NBA telecasts when they broke for commercial. Later
17. What does Baty have to do to earn a higher spot in the batting order? He's hot and its not like he'd be breaking into Murderers Row. Later
18. =Methead post_id=124005 time=1682971701 user_id=61] Well, they battled
19. =G-Fafif post_id=123882 time=1682883131 user_id=55] Cardinal legend Mike Shannon, 83. I enjoyed his announcing and his restaurant.

21. Not a good start for Reyes or the Mets. Rally time comes early today. LGM Later
22. Supposed to rain into Monday morning. Even Uncle Weatherbee can't stop it. Later
23. So soon? Their first loss seems like only yesterday ... Later
24. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Notable that Baty gets the start vs. a tough lefty. First thing I noticed when I saw the lineups. Dipping their toe in the water so he can prove he's close to full time duty. This will be an interesting test. Later
25. Benjamin Grimm wrote: That's rather egotistical! Imagine how we would have reacted if the Mets had had their name changed to the "Wilpon Mets"! There would have been a fan reaction of Biblical proportions. Later
