    It was reported Sunday afternoon by Bob Nightengale of USA Today that the New York Mets are expected to hire former Milwaukee Brewers general manager David Stearns this offseason. His contract expires after the season, and he is expected to be hired in Flushing to a high-ranking front office job. Step 1, but no impact on this season. Later

    I remember the days when I would see one of the minor league teams scored 12 runs on fifteen hits, go to the box score and see that the prospect I was following went 0-5. Until they turn it around, at least I want to see the kids do well while the veterans build their trade value. Later
