  1. With that 2 RBI hit, Winker raised his average to ..... .200. GRRRR! Later
  2. He also said the Mets won't be buyers at the trade deadline if the team doesn't improve by then, and may move some older veterans. In addition to looking for a President of Baseball Operations, he said he won't get rid of Buck or Eppler this year. Later
  3. When is the owner's press conference scheduled to start? All we know is it will be "before the game". I expect lotsa' very specific questions about players and FO staff. Later
  4. Frayed Knot wrote: Then I'm not sure why this is even a remotely relevant question. Earlier in he season, he was hit hard and early. And he had problems getting to ball over the plate. He has improved his innings per start while in the minors, and it was my way of asking if the CPF-ers thought his improvement would continue when he was called up. And IMO pitches thrown was a better measure than innings. If you notice, I posted at 7:13 and rushed to get the question in before the game started. OE: He has exceeded all guesses. Later
  5. I didn't say how many will he be allowed to throw tonight. I just asked for a number. How anyone comes up with that number is up to them. Later
  6. Bat him second and just leave him there. Let him concentrate on hitting the ball to all fields. He doesn't have the power to bat middle/down in the order. (well maybe on this team he does. But...) I think moving him up and down in the order makes him question his role. Is it average or power? Let him concentrate on one role until he gets his swing straightened out. Later
  7. Sia's song Chandelier has the lyrics: One, two, three, one, two, three, drink One, two, three, one, two, three, drink One, two, three, one, two, three, drink She must have been watching the Mets at bat. Later
  8. How may pitches do you think Peterson will throw tonight? I'm guessing 65. (no time to make it a poll) Later
  9. Unchain the entire offense. (They'll need it) Later
  10. My kid has been named to the Futures Game NL squad, the only Mets representative. Later
  11. Is it going to take a year for him to climb out of his funk, like 2021 to 2022? I hope it will be closer to what Ben said - a good month will find him back on track. Later
  12. In 1948 - Ralph Kiner hit home runs every Sunday for eight successive weeks in May and June. Later
  13. Nice thread title. Later
  14. When the game gets tight, so do they. Later
  15. From the recap of Brooklyn's 2-1 win last night. Omar De Los Santos was the catalyst, leading off with a bunt single, stealing second, stealing third, then scoring on a wild pitch with two outs. Who says speed doesn't have a place in the game. Later
  16. That was grotesque. It makes me want to swear off starting IGTs for a while. Later
  17. 1:35 PM Carlos Carrasco 2-3 6.34 Zack Wheeler 6-4 3.48 Later
  18. =ashie62 post_id=129750 time=1687647096 user_id=90] 1-0 in the [CROSSOUT]post Escobar[/CROSSOUT] Mendick era.
  19. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Slumpy McNeil gets a day off too SNY says Jeff has a sprained wrist and will test it pre-game to se if he can play today. (As a substitute) Later
  20. 4:05 PM start. Mendick is starting and batting 9th. Scherzer 6-2 4.04 Sanchez 0-0 3.24 Later
  21. Lets' start with first things first - fundamentals. I remember hearing the story of a manager who, after many fundamentally bad plays, called a pre-game meeting. He started it by holding up a ball and saying, "THIS is a baseball". Maybe Buck has to hit the mental reset button and get their heads back into the game.(and out of their arses) Later
  22. Escobar was always good in the clubhouse and many times on the field. I'll wish him well. Later
  23. Both are at AA (Southern League). Crow's numbers look better than Marceau's. Both give up home runs, but it maybe its the ballpark. Later
  24. Vinny looks like a young Joe Klecko. Later
  25. The Rangers are the only MLB team not to have a Pride night. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2023/06/23/why-are-the-texas-rangers-the-only-mlb-team-without-a-pride-night/70349359007/https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2023/06/23/why-are-the-texas-rangers-the-only-mlb-team-without-a-pride-night/70349359007/ Later
