  1. You suck, Barwis
  2. I read where CC Sabathia has indicated this will be his last year
  3. lol...I'm also not overlooking this so-called "vaccine" program.
  4. One theory for the uptick in peanut allergies is that Americans especially eat so little non-processed foods, while our fresh food undergoes such cleanliness/safety rigor, that our bodies own defenses against weird organisms in food have nothing to do anymore, whereas in the past they helped cavemen survive. Peanuts being one of the funkier and "earthiest" foods we have anymore triggers that primal defense
  5. This is sorta my fantasy too
  6. DeGrom's CAA agent, Jeff Berry, recently released a memo that outlined recourse for players who seek reform in free agency, following two historically slow markets. Among the ideas suggested by Berry was that pitchers could look to cap their workloads in a season to ensure their value remains at a higher level heading to free agency. And a source indicated deGrom could put such restrictions on himself if a new deal isn't reached with the Mets. If a deal is reached, deGrom went on to say, "I'll be all like, 'Fuck this! I got guaranteed money in the bank!' I'll be sure to take less care of my body and in fact engage in risky behavior that will endanger my arm such as ax-catching events and starting both ends of a doubleheader."
  7. Yeah I read something to that effect [CROSSOUT]in the papers[/CROSSOUT] on Twitter. Brodie Van Bullpenwagon has a thing for him. 2-2, 3.44, Lefties hit .210 off him, righties .310 Will strike out Charlie Blackmon in a key spot and the Daily News headline is AVILANCH! Nobody will vote for it.
  8. I'm not on the Alonso bandwagon till he drives by my place and forces me into the vehicle like a demented Uber driver. 8 homers and 29 RBI, most after the ASB, 50 games. Remains a strong MiLB power hitter
  9. Holy crap that's great.
  10. People who knew Carter for decades were never able to determine with certainty how much of Carter was Carter and how much was Carter acting like "Gary Carter." I don;t think he ever knew
  11. I'd say Zimmo is probably the current most Metmarketable locally. They can and do roll him out with no fear that he'll say the wrong the thing or get too far off message. The only thing holding him back from full-on Face-ness is the seeming lack of certainty on his hold on a job. Edit: On a national level, it's probably deGrom/Syndy
  12. Yeah I fixed that 24 thing!
  13. Here's the http://www.mbtn.net/?p=3040whole numerical roster. Only vacancies are 0, 25, 69 and 85-99. Espinosa presumably gets 25.
  14. Saw they have a whole rash of new unis assigned
  15. blimey
  16. Frayed Knot wrote: Who was the pitcher who Frank yanked by the collar and dressed down on the mound in front of a full stadium when said hurler casually flipped the ball in Frank's general direction because he was pissed at being relieved? Jim Barr, at Shea in 1983. Yeah, don't eff with F. Robby. Pretty good game story in the Times: https://www.nytimes.com/1983/05/26/sports/mets-commit-5-errors-in-loss.htmlhttps://www.nytimes.com/1983/05/26/sports/mets-commit-5-errors-in-loss.html
  17. Bring it on. Between them, us, Atlanta and Washington all going for it it's going to end disappointingly for someone.
  18. First black manager in AL -- and in the NL. I associate him with those deep-maroon Indians teams he managed and all the bb cards I have of him in that uni.
  19. In conclusion, our 2 person review panel recommends you watch this for yourself and make your own call.
  20. I get it. Do you see it all that different from say, Waiting for Guffman or Best In Show?
  21. I liked Ty Kelly too. Wearer of 3 ridiculous numbers in a short Met career (55, 56, 66)
  22. =seawolf17 post_id=2460 time=1549481748 user_id=91] Seven innings again fundamentally changes the game. I get the benefits, but I hate it more than I hate the DH.
  23. I'd sooner see it than have ties decided by a home run contest
