  1. 1st time thru. Hat tip at buttend for short-time performers Lagares and Zamora over shit guys who lasted longer like Harvey, Ramos and Swarzak 30. deGrom 29. Nimmo * 28. Syndergaard 27. Wheeler 26. Conforto * 25. Lugo 24. Familia 23. McNeil 22. Flores 21. Rosario 20. Cabrera 19. Matz 18. Gsellman 17. Frazier * 16. Cespedes 15. Mesoraco 14. Vargas 13. Blevins 12. Bruce 11. Plawecki * 10. Drew Smith 9. Bautista 8. Bashlor 7. A. Gonzalez 6. Dom Smith 5. Reyes 4. Oswalt 3. Jackson * 2. Lagares 1. Zamora
  2. Whitey Herzog reportedly said he alone was too much to give up for Fregosi, much less Ryan
  3. I think his chances with this club are pretty lousy now that the group that drafted him and brung him along are no longer here. Plus as noted he got fat and stopped improving. See him being traded to a club whose backup SS gets hurt before he gets into a Mets game this year
  4. Hanhold was the record breaking 55th Met of last season but that's all I knew. Like, I had no idea he'd come from Milwaukee in the Walker trade. Here's another thing I did not know: He was a college teammate of Alonso at Florida. All that going for him! I'll give him 13 innings, 4.35 ERA in 10 games including one start in a "bullpen stunt" game.
  5. deGrom needs to start pitching like a guy they wanna reward with a multiyear contract
  6. "We're Queen! We're not bound by your so-called rules of rock-n-roll!!!" Oh stfu, Queen.
  7. I think he has good stuff and can be quite effective if he stays healthy and consistent but, this is the season he really needs to do those things. If he's not better than average his Instagrams with Syndergaard and lustrous curls mean dick and we can blame Mickey for abusing him all we want, it won't matter. So listen up, Gselly!! Gimme 60 good innings!
  8. I suppose it's not a bad problem to have but I don't get where he fits in.
  9. I beleive he had a single and a walk. He was on third when the SS mistimed a bouncing ball, allowing the batter to reach easily on an error but he was a dead duck trying to score from 3rd.
  10. 9-1 is your final score! Edwin Diaz gave up a solo homer. Might have been 11-1 but for Tebow getting thrown out at home and later, Tebow not scoring on a hit from 2nd.
  11. plenty of asskicking going on as Darnaud crushes one and its 8-0
  12. old bald texting dork in a MFY tshirt in the front row.
  13. M☆NEIL homas, Cano dubbles to start the 3rd. Now comes 30-40-20
  14. here in the second Conforto doubles and Alonso singles and Smith singles, and Rosie goes KaBL☆MMO! and its 4-0
  15. Matz faces the Cardinals
  16. Buffalo and B-Mets gear indicates he's been around for a while, possibly a friend of Omar's. Does good work on Frazier's hammies and Fred's ears. Best whispers in the org, right here. JoeGo.
  17. I don't wanna say told ya so but this is not surprising at all. He was a low-drafted longshot with one tool who had to put it all together and need just the right circumatances (injuries and weakness on the parent club) simply to get the shot he already did. To expect that kind of fleeting moment to happen all over again after losing a year to injury and with the team and others in the org doing all they can to make you unnecessary is just too much to ask. Thanks, TJ. And best of luck with the Ducks.
  18. They'll make him a lefty
  19. Signings like this make me think Omar's actually making all the decisions (in partnership with Fred, natch) and Brodie is just there to give the right answers when asked about it.
  20. Not sure why we'd move No Shit Sherlock to 1BC. I honestly don't recall-- did 3BC need an upgrade? Good luck, Gary. You weren't much of a bench coach.
  21. One of the ways I've evolved as a fan over the years is taking a greater interest in the aesthetics of motion, trying to appreciate the way an athlete moves. Todd Frazier to me has a very unpleasing swing. I don't like watching him.
  22. Just looking at him, I worry he'll be more Ruben Tejada than Amed Rosario, and while neither of those things is a bad outcome for anyone, asking for more seems like a lot at his age. So I think he can be a AA All-Star and expect fans will call for him the moment Rosie struggles but won't surface till next year.
  23. I like Frazier and was disappointed that last year felt like something of a flop, even though he was eighth on the team in WAR. I could see him going gangbusters, but at the same time, if this team struggles at all, he'll be in another uniform by the summer. I [CROSSOUT]like [/CROSSOUT]hate Frazier and was [CROSSOUT]disappointed[/CROSSOUT] =#BF0000]not at all surprised that last year [CROSSOUT]felt like[/CROSSOUT] was [CROSSOUT]something of[/CROSSOUT] a flop, even though he was eighth on the shitty team in WAR, yet hit 3rd or 4th most nights. I could see him going gangbusters in the Atlantic League, but at the same time, if this team struggles at all, and even if it doesn't he'll hopefully be in another uniform by the summer.
  24. I think when they release Arquimedes Caminero, he'll get 26
