1. MFYs lost a 3-1 lead and fell in Houston 4-3. GW hit was a broken bat infield squib after Ottavino gave up a walk and a single. Ottavino was throwing a pitch every 40 seconds, we'd have hated having him.
2. How did McNeil get in the second row? Matz and Familia are prolly pissed off
3. Alright. We got them to call in the closer I n a game they were leading by 11 runs 4 outs ago
4. Let's make em work for this
5. You convinced me, he comes up when we have a double-catcher emergency gets a few ABs and a few innings in the field and that's that. Winds up with 1 MLB hit, an infield single
6. Victory, from the jaws of defeat, from the esophagus of victory!
7. And McNeil gets caught stealing...home
8. You'd have been embarrassed at the Mets bullpen before this inning began HR, HR, 1B, double play, double, HBP, single
9. Memories of Gabriel Llanes: http://www.thecranepool.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=23267http://www.thecranepool.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=23267 Heck of a bubble blower Holy crap, look what I found. I guess they made up one of these vids for all their recruits if they gave it to a 15th rounder like Llanes. 5 years later is any authority figure left?
10. Oh, man. This guy is going to DOMINATE the Northern League
11. I don't even know what's to argue. It's a good article about a mysterious but real thing. What I though was interesting was the bit about how moving the fences in had the unintended consequences of subtracting whatever offensive benefits a huge home field provided: Fewer balls dropping for hits. That to me sucks. When CF first opened I felt like they actually built it for Jose Reyes, who in the old days would drive balls right to the areas of the park that were largest, perhaps resulting in more exciting baseball-- triples and inside the park dingers. I certainly prefer as a fan seeing those to home runs even if they're less offensively impactful. But Reyes was about to experience a downturn and the price paid for it was too many warning track fries for Wright. I do think the "ultimate solution" might be to knock the damn thing over and try again somewhere else but that's 20 years down the road at earliest.
12. I was impressed with Ali Sanchez, catcher, during Spring Training. He doesn't have a much of a bat but, and hear me out, he has a great arm and can throw out runners at second base! I know we're not used to seeing it but I saw him do it 2 or 3 times this spring! I thought "don't they go from 1st to 2nd base automatically?" but it turns out that if you throw it there and someone catches it and tags the runner before he touches the base, he is out! We never see that so it was a complete surprise! good #scouting #insights
13. Double no hitter? I'm following from a conference in Philly

15. =Centerfield post_id=6347 time=1554389359 user_id=65] Nervous about this one. Not that the game means a heck of a lot in the grand scheme of things, but man, would it be nice to win in front of a packed house, beat Strassberg twice, and drop them to 2-4.
16. The Seaver cover is terribly boring, especially for a photography forward title like SI. Young Strawberry and another nickname that didn't stick, wins this round easily
17. He needs to stop posing for smiley portraits with his wifey and tiny dog, denounce Jesus, grow a beard, get some neck tattoos and start using steroids.

19. =kcmets post_id=6267 time=1554333638 user_id=53] Weird bounce off the top of the wall cushion, 99 times out of a hundred that's a kaboom.
20. Don't look now but if Rosey hits well this year, well... damn. Hey, I'm a Broxton Lad myself. Meaning I'm not a Larages Guy, but, you know...

Now that you mention it, I seem to remember him going back to 64 one spring to try to regain his youthful magic, or something like that. Does anyone else recall this?
