Almost makes me long for the return of Wayne Hagin. Yeah I can't follow the action with Ed, and instead watching the pictures, putting together what's happening before Gary T can figure out how to describe it to me.     Keith must have momentarily mistaken himself for John Kruk. What a disastrous start for the SHaMs. Punked by a last place team, again, no response after a "fight", may have lost their best guy to an injury, Drew Smith coughs it up on his very first pitch of "leverage." But nobody can stop talking about how Alonso is terrific for winning a batting-practice contest.

    I inherited a 1999 road-grey we gave to my dad on his 70th birthday #70, natch. I surrendered it to my brother when he got me a pinstriped Seaver 41 for my birthday one year. When I was in my 20s I thought I might collect all team jerseys but I ran out of money and realized the whole pursuit was kinda stupid, there really wasn't any occasion where wearing a baseball jersey was appropriate. But I still have a Tigers home white and a pinstripe-era Expos jersey somewhere.

    Yeah I think of the moustache first and that I never really warmed to him given his MFY background not to mention his early performances. But every year has a veteran-reliever-who-sucks-and-is-released-in-May. He was 84's. Was replaced in the bullpen by Brent Gaff. "The Gaffer!" as Hernandez always refers to him.
