  1. Wilmer Flores hit a lot of late-inning homers
  2. It's insane that the biggest need this team has is a right-handed slugger who can play first base
  3. Does anyone remember the Ike Davis home run I'm talking about? I wanna say it was early in the season, I wanna say it was Atlanta. It was a tough left-handed reliever. Was it Johnny Venters?
  4. I think it would be interesting to see Mendy bang a fist on his desk and insist Young is an everyday major leaguer
  5. Vientos has an OPS+ of 85 and is OBPing at .267. He possesses RH power and we need some of that. Gradually become an OK defender. But as noted in the game thread, we're over him. Jared Young looks better to me as a guy but small sample--he's second on the team in OPS+! -- and would need to shake the reserve label. Competent with the glove I think. Polanco is a switch hitter with a good track record but not sure if you want him and his achilles at first base Ryan Clifford-- Legit LH hitting slugger but 75 Ks in 184 ABs in Syracuse. ow Maybe Tauchmann? If he can answer the bell this year Who's on first?
  6. As posted in the Memories thread I recall the Davis one. I think it was when he was really struggling but before the Valley Fever diagnosis and I wanted to believe it was the swing that turned his/our season around. It wasn't. Anyway Duan remembers too.
  7. They just look so overmatched in this series. Not only did they get outhit by 3X last night, every hit was an absolute rocket except for De La Cruz's cue shot off Manaea. I don't know if came thru on TV but that was the thing last night--the crack of the bat when Cincinnati was up there. We just aren't the kind of team that can do that by now. Last night the offensive highlight was Baty reaching section 513 with a foul ball. That's hard to do.
  8. I remember when Ike Davis hit a home run off him.
  9. Morabito needs to get back to the New York Penn League.
  10. He has bigger problems probably but McLean's body language sucks.
  11. Administrative scarcity is not greatness. You'll remember Carter with or without a stupid circle on the wall. Or a circle on the wall with No. 8, but with guys still wearing the number on the field. Why were the Mets carrying a No. 8 jersey around with them. Has anyone asked that?
  12. Morabito doesnt belong in a MLB lineup
  13. Lonely suburban dad befriends his neighbor; cringy hijinx ensue
  14. I think on some level the Torve and Morabito "mistakes" were actually trial balloons. Especially Torve, they got away with it for a while
  15. Last 1/3 of the movie--the whole humvee thing--is a letdown after a really funny beginning and middle. You could actually relate to Murray joining the army given his civilian prospects. You can't deny it the iconic lines either but IMO this movie was great and just kept getting worse
  16. Ewing fucked tgat up in every way, giving us a 10th inning scenario in the 9th
  17. Anyway saw where Morabito wears 55 tonight. Also he looked overmatched at the plate last night. Small sample and all
  18. The other problem is that Howie has become something like Carter. Held in too high esteem to be offended or argued with
