1. Finished but 110 rarity Royce Clayton (0.5)-A Chapman-Danny Graves Hicks-Stieb-Henke Zeile (3%)-Palmer-Myers
2. Between 1st and 3rd, then whatever's in your price range. Even the Promenade is "close" to the field there. Keep in mind Citi can be incredibly chilly around Easter. Damp and windy. So the ability to get into a club can be important. The Promenade club is difficult to watch a game from.
3. Fun times in the Valentine era when they had Don Pardo do "live from New York..." intro. Full house, Benny Agbanayi giveaway game, Budweiser in aluminum cans
4. 4 years, $44 mills for the flamethrowing former Cardinal/Blue Jay Not that I coveted him particularly and I can't imaging 4 years for a reliever is a good idea but I would still like someone like him in the Met pen.
5. 73 Athletics: Hunter, Fingers, Jackson, Seaver, Mays
6. Tony Perez. Either him or Ron Gardenhire
7. 83: Seaver. Carlton, Schmidt, Rose, Morgan
8. Thought thru 2009 was a trick question but I see that's fir all of em. David Wright then
9. we saw a screening with a talk from the director afterward. I would have thought of the show as journalism and it is but the director thought he was making a movie. Great scene where the lion eats the elephant while the DeBeers guy is going on about how diamond mining is good for Botswana
10. 1. Remlinger
11. Not just for the fans. All those home games in the frigid weather, we'll probably get a ton of injuries even if there are soft teams visiting (Tigers, Royals, Pirates, Cardinals, Cubs). When we're on the road, it's 4 at Atlanta and 3 each in LA and SF. Overlooked there's 3 home games in March!
12. Mets single-game tickets went on sale this morning for those with the presale code Mets2024. This is as late as single-game tix went on sale for a long time. Anyway, not an ideal Tuesday schedule this year with 3 April games, a day Tuesday game in May, a long run of no Tuesday home games in May-June plus an unaffordable MFY game and two visits from the Nationals. We don't go to early April night games, so the TNM schedule skips 2 Tuesdays and begins on April 30 vs the Cubs. May 13 is a special Monday night special vs. the Phillies since the Tuesday that week is a day game getaway. Then we have the Dodgers May 28. A long break till a special Friday Night edition vs. the Astros June 28 (we're skipping the MFY game Tuesday June 25, no ticket less than $100). In July we entertain the Nationals (July 9) and Twins (July 30); then are home for the Athletics and Orioles in back-to-back Tuesdays Aug 13 + 20. The season wraps up with the Red Sox Sept 3 and Nationals (the clincher, Sept 17). Five American League games out of 11! Tickets are expensive. We kept mostly to the same section (Promenade 514, behind home plate, and see where the Mets issued us the very same seats for 7 of the 11 games. Row 2, seats 3&4, come find us there
13. Bohan Adderly wuz robbed
14. Lunchpail is older than most of these guys
15. 1 robin ventura
16. 3 is bill shea
17. Cinematic documentary reveals hijinx in the diamond trade.
18. I was wondering if there was any chance of stepping in when he didn't come off the market right away. Perhaps high $$$, short years
19. whoever started the retiring numbers game, it was a slippery slope. The fans want to see it but the truth is the Mets don't have enough number-retirement worthy guys to meet the demand. The giant scoreboard, and hi-def ribbon screens, is as much a business thing as a fan-friendly thing. Better ad real estate = $$ I'm not at all up in arms over the dance squad; they've had the Pepsi Party Patrol for 20 years and nobody died; the Nickelodeon outfield came and went. It's all about developing new audiences which they need to do. In a matter of taste, I don't think they needed to add fireworks to the home run apple. That's on Steve!
20. good rarity for me today -- 44 Valentine-Stearns (0.1)-Matlack Ryan-Montanez (0.5)-Jenkins Rettenmund (0.5)-O'Neill (0.5) -Seaver
21. As if you needed to look forward to the Subway Series even less.
