  1. They got everybody man
  2. On my way to a good one today but put my Detroit center fielder (Damion Easley) in the Indian-Tiger box by accident, then they wouldn't let me guess Easley again, so I dove into Mofo GET THIS GUY lore and selected Bobby Higginson (1%). Was struggling for Indian-Tiger anyway. Met row: Backman (1%)-Heidemann (0.1%)-Luplow (0.03%) CF-SS pick: Elliott Maddox (0.01%)
  3. I was thinking like Orel Hershiser, plus it would give the Dodgers a black eye
  4. I'm with THEY DON'T GOT IT, which would be a good headline for a paper featuring those who didn't vote for DIDDLY SQUAT
  5. Head to head, all NL players, like God intended. Before I create, who's in?
  6. Mets were so into this guy they signed him to a 2-year deal while he recovered from arm surgery, only to get a healthy version that sucked. I had bigger expectations for this palooka.
  7. I'm picking up an ironic mad vibe from those decrying a feminist flick only got a nomination for Ken. I didn't see this movie nd probably won't
  8. =G-Fafif post_id=145748 time=1706069553 user_id=55] Rhys Hoskins signs for two years with the Brewers.
  9. Just a great quiz. You could do one for every team and make a fortune
  10. I got a 110 rarity. that's like well-done. McGriff-Mathews-Eddie Rosario Belt-Kingman-Cueto Hinske-Longoria-Arozarena
  11. Excuse me. Election interference! You are an impartial observer. "This Much" is a great headline as it is written to match the joy shown in the photo. It's written to match the photo but because its pushing some false narrative that beating the Marlins is somehow more significant to the Mets than beating any other team. Is it really though? There is probably a million other headlines Newsday could have written to accompany the photo (EDUARD-OH! THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS! etc) but none of them would be so insipid and ham-handed as to make it about the season's record against the Marlins. That text on the side "Make it 5 of 6 against Fish" is all that needed to be said about that stupid coincidence. I don't think of Diddly squat as poop but as "nothing." That's obviously the meaning the News was going for here as it's an actual match for the story of the game and not some stretch of the imagination
  12. DIDDLY SQUAT! best exemplifies the spirit of tabloid back covers, enough so to overcome the excellent photo in the other one. And speaking of the other one, the headline is terrible and the win-loss record against a particular team is not even a real story in the baseball season. Even the ballplayers would deny taking a particular pleasure in playing Miami. 5 outta 6 is nice and all but a stretch to suggest its dominance. And who cares when it's 4th and 5th place teams battling? It's a false premise. Also, the lead-in to the hed is too small but in all-caps. It's a godawful mess made of a terrific picture.
  13. Poor David losing his hair like that
  14. Now this is a kwiz. 1. d 2. a 3. b 4. a
  15. 1. Don Aase
  16. They're definitely not going to sign him now that he got through arbitration without a deal and with Boras as the agent. I think much depends on where we are in late July. We gathered in several hitters at last year's deadline but there's a not a lot of high-ceiling pitching on the way. If it gets to free agency I sure the Mets will be competitive with the $$ then its up to Pete to take it or pull a deGrom.
  17. Piazza Wright Beltran delgado floyd
  18. 5. 1 Wright 2 Beltran 3 delgado 4 Floyd 5 piazza
  19. 3. Toby Borland
  20. Northport is actually in north west Suffolk. Bud would have to leave home about 45 minutes earlier to make it on time
  21. 1. New York's own Daniel Garcia
  22. Robert Stevenson, whom the Mets were said to have interest in, signs with the Angels. John Brebbia off the market, signs with the White Sox.
  23. Different tickets come with different club access at no extra charge. I'm not certain but think that most between-the-bases seats come with some club access. Lower levels have better clubs. I usually sit in the Promenade behind home plate and so have club access. We only use it when its cold or raining and occasionally to get some food.
  24. I would say 99% of the problems with SI today are related to bad/incompetent management, even the degree to which they employ dummies like Patrick McAvoy and AI reports.
