  1. Released today https://sny.tv/articles/mets-2025-mlb-regular-season-schedulehttps://sny.tv/articles/mets-2025-mlb-regular-season-schedule A whole lot of oddities here: -Three one-series road trips (Washington in April, Pittsburgh in June, Milwaukee in July) -One one-series homestand (Arizona) -Five semi-repeaters. -Opening day is in Houston on a Thursday, but with a day off the Friday. (Spoiler alert: there's no chance of a rainout in Houston). There are also April weekday night games in Minneapolis. In more positive news: -A Friday home opener -The three west coast road trips are well spaced out and are only two-city trips each - and there is only one three-city road trip on the entire schedule. -Obviously it's way too early to know what teams will do in 2025 but a preliminary look at the September 2025 schedule suggests it might not be too difficult.
  2. Both Stewart and Gamel were available. Problem is that neither of them are good hitters.
  3. Agreed. I still think roster construction leaves something to be deleted, but adding Vientos, Torrens, and Iglesias (and removing their predecessors) has been a big positive. As has, of course, Lindor and Nimmo returning to expected production levels.

  5. I've been surprised by Mendoza occasionally but I doubt he does anything different than he would for an ordinary game. Houser hasn't pitched in 6 days so he's very likely to pitch no matter what. Diaz, Maton, Diekman would all be ready as part of ordinary course usage patterns.

  7. I'd be pinch-hitting Alvarez here.
  8. Can't remember ever seeing a 2-base Wild Pitch Wasn't ever worried since they never got the tying run to the plate.
  9. One is left to wonder why Lucchesi was never seriously considered as a reliever.
  10. There is absolutely a roster spot, as DJ Stewart is not adding value.
  11. I get that it's his Mets debut, but he did have 93 MLB innings before this appearance. Also, Wikipedia unfortunately tells me that Festa “grew up a fan of the New York Yankees, idolizing Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter.”
  12. This is the 5th extra inning loss this year by 2 runs or more. 3-8 overall in extra innings in 2024
  13. How about Adrian Houser as starter vs. Adrian Houser as reliever?
  14. No need to be silly. He's not a bad pitcher and unless you missed 2019, yes, he could be a *lot* worse.
  15. This can't keep happening. Either stop cheating or cheat better please.
  16. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=159981 time=1719010470 user_id=119]They're fun and harmless. No one is forced to buy one.
  17. MLB may now be in a position where, if they don't actively encourage someone to sign Trevor Bauer, they could be setting themselves up to lose a billion-dollar lawsuit. This is so ridiculous I had to make sure it wasn't some sort of parody account. It appears he has not a clue what he is talking about.
  18. Chad ochoseis wrote: I went with Bonds, as the question was not "Who is the greatest living player, cheaters not included?" Are we sure Willie Mays wasn't using PEDs?
  19. I had no problem picking Barry Bonds here and didn't see it as a tough choice.
  20. Best win of the year so far?
  21. Benjamin Grimm wrote: In 2017, the Mets traded five veteran players and got back one who would turn out to provide any measurable value This is what happens when you have players on expiring contracts who are on the wrong side of 30. Also, they perhaps waited too long to trade some of those players.
  22. =Centerfield post_id=159157 time=1718386875 user_id=65]I feel like we've seen a few sell-offs in recent history and don't really have much of anything to show for any of them. Maybe Drew Smith.
  23. I'm just glad you didn't add a “City Connect” button
  24. Edgy MD wrote: Also, don't trade anybody. Just go out and whoop the Marlins. In the next 35 games (through July 22) the Mets have only two games against a team that currently has a winning record (Yankees). If they can go 22-13 (or better) in those next 35 games, then selling might be off the table. That would bring them right up to .500.
  25. Frayed Knot wrote: I didn't look but Ventura probably has the fewest overall HRs (294) of those on the above list By a wide margin. Carlos Lee had 358, Kingman in the mid 400s, Gehrig 493, and the rest are all in the 500 club.
