You mean the times the Wild Card Winner has come from the East. 4 times out of 10 wild cards isn't exactly a large sample size.
  2. I thought the 10Ks were impressive too, but 4 runs in 5 innings isn't exactly giving your team a great chance to win...and it's worth 2 or even 3 Schaefer points? (Tue 9/12 game, Mets 6 Florida 4).

  4. ="seawolf17"] We'll always have this: He's Korean, not Japanese.
  5. For 100 Wins, the Mets need to go: 11-7 (or better).
  6. With the doubleheader tomorrow, the Mets can clinch the division with a win and 2 Atlanta wins over Philadelphia.
  7. Pre- (or during-) game discussion: Mary Noble referred to Oliver Perez's shutout last time out as "the most surprising pitching performance at Shea Stadium since Bobby Jones' one-hitter against the Giants in the 2000 NLDS." Your thoughts... 1. Is he right? If not, who was? 2. Whose was the most surprising immediately preceeding Jones? .

  12. I repeat and reallege each and every cause for grouchiness contained in Paragraphs 1 through 8 contained hereof, with the same force and effect as if set forth fully at length herein. 9. I'm grouchy because the two games I attended this weekend were Friday and Sunday's craptacular efforts.
  13. I'd take all 3. I want 11 pitchers, 14 position players. 8 starting positions Castro Franco and Woodward Chavez, Milledge, Tucker
  14. For 100 Wins, the Mets need to go: 12-8 (or better).
  15. SteveJRogers wrote: I wonder if there was a rime and reason for the order of State Hood among the 13? Either that or just plain whomever got their paperwork done first I guess. Short version: Yes. A combination of both.
  16. "My mom's 79 Pontiac Grand Am, Gold. Had a hole in the floor on the passenger's side, so you had to watch out when you're driving, or you'd be sliding around like the Flinstones." -Cliff Floyd, from "Ask the Mets" on the Diamondvision during today's (9/10) game. The question was "What was your first car?"
  17. Thanks Scarlet Knight, but that's the report I was referring to. Still no luck finding an artist, where that source got that title from, etc.

  24. I was the guy in the Wright jersey, blue hat. Do you get off at Court Square or Vernon/Jackson to change to the bus? I always did the Vernon/Jackson connection because I come home from work that way, but after aborting my trip to Shea on Tuesday (got the message as soon as I got out of the tunnel) and getting off at Court Square I think that migh tbe faster.
  25. What a stinking pile of shit. Dodger fans in my section too. Insult to injury, walking home across the Pulaski Bridge we get caught as the bridge goes up. The "Do the Wave" graphic was back on Diamondvision -- in the THIRD INNING! Down 2-0! Almost as infuriating as a mostly dead crowd -- announced attendance over 52,000 -- suddenly coming to life for fucking Sweet fucking Caroline. Fuck the guy responsible for the between-inning stuff on the scoreboard.
