  3. Updated 4/20. Pelfrey didn't use Heat of the Moment tonight. Maybe it was a one-time deal. He definetly had a song when he was warming up in the first but I couldn't catch what it was. Entrance Music 2007 Relievers Scott Schoenweis - I'm told it was something by Incubus but I can't figure out which song. Billy Wagner - Enter Sandman, Metallica C Paul LoDuca - Stayin' Alive, Bee Gees; No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn, Beastie Boys IF Jose Reyes - Walk It Out, DJ Unk; This Is Why I'm Hot, Mims; two reggaeton beats, including one created by Reyes himself. David Wright - Me and You, Cassie; The Second Coming, Julez Santana; Fame, David Bowie; I'm Not a Player - Big Pun OF Moises Alou - Requests that no music be played. Carlos Beltran - El Esta Aqui, David y Abraham Shawn Green - Song 2, Blur; Be Yourself, Audioslave Bench Julio Franco - People Get Ready, Crystal Lewis David Newhan - We Fly High, Jim Jones
  4. Cranky would be a good way to start. 1. LoDuca sure seemed to loaf after that first Wild Pitch that let Andruw score. Didn't seem like he realized at all that Andruw would take off from third. 2. Willie not putting in a righty to face Francoeur. Feliciano was in the second inning of work, he leaves him in to face Chipper, and then Andruw (curious), but for the bases loaded with Francoeur? Umm, maybe not the best idea. 3. Willie brings in Burgos in a spot where the game could spiral out of control if we didn't shut the door right there. Maybe at 5-0 it wasn't the closest game ever, but using Burgos over Smith (or even Heilman) seems to show, in my opinion, indifference as to the outcome of the game. 4. Moises Alou bangs one off the wall -- and winds up with a SINGLE! Damn, he is so freaking slow. 5. Not hitting. 6. At all. The Jackie Robinson day festivities were nice. David Robinson (Jackie's brother) spoke before the game and had some graceful remarks (including ending with urging the Mets to victory). Rachel Robinson was there but didn't speak. Strange: All of the between-inning music was Motown: My Guy, Baby I Need Your Lovin', The Way You Do The Things You Do, It Takes Two, This Old Heart of Mine, etc etc.

  6. I thought it was "Steve" Henderson. He was on the list as "Stevie."
  7. Wagner snapped the other streak, the scoreless bullpen innings. Oh well. I don't think that was Borchard's Johnny Cash entrance music, I think that was "I Walk the Line" for the guy batting ahead of Borchard who got walked.
  8. Can't decide between Saturday and Sunday (Smoltz/Glavine part II). We already are going tomorrow but I think this series is going to be BIG.
  9. Thanks for doing this Edgy. MetsGeek (before they turned into absolute crap) used to have a chart like this. Sadly they stopped updating it.
  10. I was listening to Steve Somers briefly after the game tonight, he indicated that the ERA and BAA (under .200) are both leading the major leagues. I think he said it's now 17 1/3 consecutive scoreless bullpen innings.
  11. Maine 4.8 Beltran 2 Reyes 2 Alou .6 Valentin .6
  12. Mark Buehrle no-hit the Texas Rangers tonight. Faced 27 batters. Picked off the only guy he walked.
  13. Found it. 2-run homer against Glavine in the bottom of the 8th on May 27th last year. Was inconsequential though, Mets won 7-4 (was 7-1 at time of homer).

  15. The two errors in the first killed the Marlins...but it wouldn't have mattered much. Mets were smacking Dontrelle around. Beltran's shot was a direct line drive, just barely over the scoreboard in left field. We'll get some delayed love for him here...

  21. I am positive that it was indeed the first squeeze ever called by Willie as Mets manager. I still wonder what exactly happened there. It didn't seem like Green got any sign (usually squeeze signals are whispered by the third base coach) for that play. The Phillies just look terrible. Victorino doesn't look like he should be playing in the majors; that 'pen is awful. Unless Howard and Utley wake up big time they're going to lose a lot.
  22. G-Fafif wrote: This will be, I'm fairly certain, the first true day-night doubleheader the Mets have ever hosted. The 2000 and 2003 Subway Series monstrosities were, of course, two-stadium affairs. The Mets held a bit of a lag-in-between twinbill in 2005, a four o'clock makeup start and then an 8:05 ESPN game versus the Giants on a Sunday night. That was one admission.Today's official press notes say "we are currently researching the last day-night doubleheader at Shea." ]Ticket availability (or perhaps management greed) is worse than I'd imagined.I think it may actually be the former. Did you see that in the press announcement regarding the Jackie Robinson ceremony that they had already sold 40,000 tickets to that game (before the ceremonies were rescheduled to that date)? 40,000 advance sales for a game in April? Not bad.
