  1. Aaron Heilman -- #2 on the changeup list?
  2. Penny yelled at Green, ostensibly about peeking at the catcher for signs. Green was pissed. LoDuca had some words with Penny when Penny came to the plate but Green still seemed mad. Wouldn't mind Sosa planting one in Penny's rear end next time he's up.
  3. Doing the important stuff, like washing the dishes and washing my David Wright jersey for Friday's game, but definetly still here.
  4. This is as bad as it gets, right? Right?
  5. Last opposing pitcher HR vs. the Mets was Willis' grand slam against Lima, I think.
  6. Gee, John, thanks for keeping that first pitch to Furball in the park.
  7. Green 2 Wright 1 Feliciano 1.33 Mota .67 Schoeneweis .33
  8. Wright's 500th hit. Wonder who was the fastest to 500 as a Met. (Wright took 445 games).
  9. Mets Foundation Reception and Charity Auction on July 21 in Greenwich. Info is here: Link The big question: if money were no object, which of these auction items would would you pick? 1. Shag flies with Carlos Beltran in centerfield 2. Hitting clinic with Carlos Delgado 3. Round of golf with Tom Glavine 4. Spanish lesson from "Professor" Jose Reyes 5. Pitching clinic with Scott Schoeneweis 6. Take Billy Wagner to school 7. "Pick your position" and play baseball with David Wright (I assume #6 is for a kid to take him for show-and-tell). -- For me, I think Delgado might be the most interesting to chat with, but since I was always more of a glove man than a hitter, I'd choose the Beltran one.
  10. Bump of this for the Delgado-got-nailed by Victorino at the plate on Wednesday, June 6. 6th inning, Mets were up 2-0 at the time, Delgado was 3rd out of the inning. Mets lost game 4-2.
  11. Verlander threw a no-hitter for the Tigers. DET 4, MIL 0.
  12. IIRC, it was first 5 or first 10 years of the franchise's existence. Can't remember which.
  13. Shoula taken El Duque out for the PH. I'd criticize myself for hindsight...except, wait, I suggested that earlier. Dammit Willie.
  14. I don't think it would be difficult at all. The drawback is that the interleague games wouldn't be grouped together as an "event," which does boost attendance. Still, there are a lot of series that would sell out or have good attendance regardless so I don't think that concern should be put ahead of competitive balance. (Which of course means baseball wouldn't do it).
  15. Big K of Martin. Could well be El Duque's last inning (due up 4th in the top of the 5th).
  16. Who moves to the AL to fix the disparity? Houston?
  17. It's ok, it's been 7211 games, what's one more? I'll take some fault too. I had been cleaning up during the Mets time up because I wanted to concentrate on the Dodgers' time up because of the no-hits-yet too.
  18. The boos for LoDuca and Green don't make sense to me.
  19. El Duque not so sharp. 80 pitches for El Duque through 4.
  20. Hillary Swank. Booed at Dodger Stadium after being shown on screen with Mets hat, as per Howie on WFAN broadcast tonight.
  21. More aggressiveness with the Valentin bunt single. Nice.
  22. LoDuca 2 Ledee 2 Wright 2 Gotay 1 Heilman 1 Beltran 1 Sele .5
  23. I like the aggressive running. Really like it. Welcome back Shawn!
