  3. From the National Weather Service: National Weather Service wrote: This Afternoon: A chance of rain after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 59. Southeast wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Tonight: Rain, mainly after 9pm. Patchy fog after 9pm. Low around 52. Southeast wind at 10 mph becoming southwest. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Saturday: Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 67. Light wind becoming west between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. I read this as it actually being a higher probability that tonight gets rained out than tomorrow.

The Shea family did it opening day, Mr. Met did it last night, who did it tonight to move it to 78? They showed them at the beginning of the SNY broadcast but did not identify them.

  8. I was there too. That game turned on more than Julio's loafing, however. I recall it was a bad start by Pelfrey.
  9. Feliciano wasn't available. From Adam Rubin's blog: Pedro Feliciano was unavailable because he arrived at the ballpark in the seventh inning. Feliciano had permission from the Mets to go home to Puerto Rico for a family issue after Sundays game in Philadelphia. His 6 a.m. flight from San Juan to JFK was cancelled, and he had to be re-routed through Orlando. Mets security picked him up at the airport, but couldnt get him to the ballpark in time to contribute.
  10. As Schoeneweis was warming up, my neighbors and I were debating whether it was better to have Smith face a lefty to lead off or to bring in Schoeneweis to force the burning of the PH, but also have to face Rollins and Victorino. We all managed to agree on Smith facing Dobbs to lead off as the better choice, knowing that if Smith didn't get out 1-2-3 then Schoeneweis was available for Utley and Howard. Granted, he should've been out of the inning with only 1 run of damage, but still. Not a good choice. Anyone catch why Rollins left the game? Crowd was not particularly friendly to the Mets. Boos for Sosa, Schoeneweis and Heilman all in the pregame introductions. Several fights -- of the full-throttle punches being thrown variety -- in various levels of the stadium. The overwhelming feeling in the building was that people are still very pissed off about last year.
  11. Benson is the closest thing the Phils have to an ex-Met on their roster. We have Wagner, Anderson and Chavez who all served time in Philadelphia. Nice job, had no idea that So-fucking-Taguchi was on the Phillies now. One more reason to dislike them.
  12. Korean BBQ? Yes, absolutely. In Flushing. Take the 7 train to Main Street, there are several places within walking distance. Our favorite is Kum Gang San, Northern Boulevard at Union Street. http://www.kumgangsan.net/
  13. I will be at Shea as well. Having opening day on a Tuesday for the first time in a while fortunately puts us in our regular seats.
  14. Took a little while to find it but no worries Edgy, you're not guilty.
  15. Waitasecond, going back to that UMDB page, how exactly did Oliver Perez get Schaefer points that game?
  16. Seattle. Would also like another couple of series but I'll wait to see what's leftover.
  17. Little premature to judge that, no?

  19. Whomever thought the phone calls during the SNY broadcast was a good idea should be fired. Beltran getting robbed was just stupid. Umps had a real bad 2007, now this shit (first the inconsistent strike zone in games 1 and 2) to start this year. Where is the badly-needed umpire oversight?
  20. Perez 3 Wright 2.5 Beltran 2 Church 2 Delgado .5

  22. Shitfuck. This is what you get when you have one hit from innings 5 to 10.

Keep in mind that Ventura is probably not officially credited with Mets grand slam #6 to tie him with Piazza.
  24. Pecota at third in '92?
