From the "not a good idea department:" http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/79418/mets-unveil-camouflage-jerseys "Military Mondays" with free tickets to servicemen and women? Great. This jersey? Horrible. I'd gladly donate to a military-related charity if they just didn't wear it.
A few words from McCann to Fernandez and that would've been fine; they'll have plenty of chances to plunk him next season of course. The correct answer is Johnson for the douchebag prize.
2017 opening date means that baseball will have gone 5 full years between opening new parks. Last time that happened was 1982 (Metrodome) to 1989 (SkyDome).
I don't actually know if you have to qualify for the batting title to be eligible for a silver slugger. As noted, Wright should win for third base regardless.
You tell me. Did I forget something? I hope it's understood that this is more of a "that's interesting" observation and not a "this is a well-founded statistical argument" observation.
History tells us that it is unlikely that the Cardinals will win. One league has not won four consecutive World Series since 1979-1982 (NL); before that 1947-1953 (AL).
I believe my dislike for Victorino came from the days when the Phillies were acting as the fun police and calling out Jose Reyes for being too celebratory. Just like the 2013 Cardinals, it was a total hypocritical double standard bullshit pot-calling-kettle-black situation, with Victorino as happy to showboat as anyone. Is Victorino still a tool? Hard to say. --- I guess I would root for Boston over the Cardinals but this is clearly the worst World Series matchup since Satan's Series.

Don't forget how shitty Citi Field's scoreboard looks

Edgy MD wrote: I'm confused at how everybody on the planet was supposed to know it's coming. Exactly. The even more riddiculous part is that had he swung, the likely result would have been the same. He was such a great player, and that's all you want to remember? Your loss.
Frayed Knot wrote: The bench of Kolten Wong, Daniel Descalso, Shane Robinson, Tony Cruz, and Adron Chambers combined to OPS barely 550 for the season Ok, fess up. Descalso is real, but you made the rest of those guys up, right?
Edgy MD wrote: They not only refused to assist McCourt, but actively forced his hand. Where is the trap from which there is no escape documented? Ah. We are in agreement as to that particular point. I might submit that the Dodgers are the example that proves escape is entirely possible.
