I would think that New York City would have a stricter regulatory authority than other locations, and thus find more violations. it compares the number of violations per visit to the average for restaurants in the area
  2. Yankee Stadium was ranked by ESPN as having the 6th most disgusting unsanitary food conditions in the country. We can ignore that Citi wasn't far behind. http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/25316231/health-inspection-reports-find-critical-violations-nfl-nhl-nba-mlb-stadiums-2018-espn-lines#!

Sure, but that is the argument any time an injured veteran gets let go. Surely some of them have some value. I'd kick the tires at the right price. Cant be worse than Reyes was and he probably doesnt beat women!
  4. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: This shift-banning would probs have to see some trials in the minors first, no? Yeah. If they are going to introduce dumb ideas like stopping the shift, or the pitcher being a big baby who doesnt bat, they should relegate it to the minor league in the Bronx.
  5. cooby wrote: I think Smoltz means using the shift as often as it is used today, not just as a tool against the occasional batter Who gets to decide when to use it then? Maybe we can have manager's challenges and more instant replay! Calloway can come screaming out of the dugout "THEY CAN'T SHIFT AGAINST HIM, HE IS ONLY HITTING .279!!"
  6. Sad to see him go. He crushed lefties and belonged as a starter against them.
  7. Well, Jeff, you can just pay him and get back true roster spot!
  8. RealityChuck wrote: He was better when he was on the Supreme Court. LOL
  9. I took WTF. I would be "neutral" if the Mets actually followed this up with a free agent spending spree to try and win now. I have doubts they will.
  10. He isnt "can't miss" but I like his chances better than Smith at this point and want to see what he has. Strikeouts are overrated, they are just outs.
  11. Good for Rickey.
  12. seawolf17 wrote: This confuses me, what with Alonso there and all that. Alonso should be in Syracuse for exactly as long as the Mets need to leave him there to manipulate his service time.
  13. would have loved to see the mets make this deal, especially as the risk is only one year!!
  14. Robertson is a free agent though and is the only person called out by name as the instigator - maybe this was meant as a "hit piece" orchestrated against him BY the Yankees brass rather than as an anti-Yankee piece? I wonder how a yankees fan reads it.
  15. Voted for Halladay, but needed to uncheck Rivera, sorry!
  16. I think Keuchel, Kimbrel, amd Pollack should have accepted. I could go either way on Grandal.
  17. It has been announced that Tim Tebow has been promoted and will start the year in AAA by [crossout:3pu7db47]his agent[/crossout:3pu7db47] the Mets GM!
  18. Centerfield wrote: I hear what you are saying, but it's dangerous to start arguing we are better than our numbers because of this factor or that. You are what your numbers say you are. yup. for everything that might got better there is something that might get worse. you should try to improve the team based off where the numbers say you are and then be happy when things break your way. in other words, don't be a a .500 team "on paper" hoping to get lucky. be a 90 win team that gets lucky and goes all the way.
  19. I vote for mister Bloom mostly to watch which media clowns cant pronounce the 'ch' properly

    OOTP

Public Service announcement for anyone playing an older version or looking to try it for the first time OOTP (Out Of The Park Baseball) 2019 is on sale on STEAM for $9.99 through November 2nd. with no changes other than some bullpen upgrades at the trading deadline, my 2018 Mets went 104-58. totally realistic.
  21. Frayed Knot wrote: Ceetar wrote: of course the Marlin is humping the M. probably giving it herpes too. Yeah, but also a gift bag. You beat me to exactly what I was going to write.
  22. Ceetar wrote: I have very little issue with not tearing down the line on 99.9999% outs. Ok sure, but even in the playoffs you cant bring yourself to care enough to run it out? Makes me worry a little what you'll do when you have the next 8 years gauranteed in the bank. Not worried enough that I wouldn't gladly sign him though.
  23. Frayed Knot wrote: It's a player vote, so it's a popularity contest, which means I'm neither surprised nor particularly put off by it. If the Wilpons made such a tone deaf move people would scream bloody murder. different standard for the players?
  24. The team and David have made clear he is done playing, so whats the rush for us to worry about the logistics?
