there was a column in the Post today talking about Perez and Hal Gregg as the worst pitchers to ever start a game 7, no mention of Suppan there though.
has that been done before? is there a rule i dont know about preventing it? common sense would prevent it in the regular season as it fucks with your rotation, but now it makes alot of sense if its legal

heres what i'd do: we're "starting" Oliver Perez, right? WRONG, LaRussa submits his lineup card and then notices that Traschel is taking the mound against a lineup designed to face a lefty!
Castro? without checking i cant even remember his last AB, i wouldnt want him up in a big spot. if you pinch-hit a righty dont we just get Wainwright 1 batter sooner anyway? (he came on to face valentin after green got out)

i watched the game last night with a yankee fan (good friend of mine and a real fan not some yankee bandwagoner) who had money on the mets to win the series, he thought Randolph should have pinch hit for Green in the 8th, i told him he was nuts and that not only should randolph not do that but it wont even be discussed by the talk radio lunatics because its so far out there, thoughts?
i hate that thing only because it seemedto replace the overhead camera for determining if a pitch was inside/outside, and i'd rather just see the pitch itself.
of course you just fator in the amount you posted in your calculations. so if you were going to offer him 30 million over 3 and you post 10 million you'll offer him 20 million over 3, if he doesnt like it he can stay in japan another year and the mets get their 10 million back right?
250 pitches in a high school game? i'd like to know what these minor injuries were before i'd bid. nonetheless you get your money back if you can't work out a deal, so you might as well bid high if you're the Mets.
I'd start Traschel but i'd have a guy warming the entire game and ready to make a quick hook, and i mean QUICK. if he walks the 1st two batters he does not face Pujols. if he lets 3 men on in any inning he's out of here. Oliver and Perez 1-2-3 Hernandez 5-6 Bradford 5-6 Mota 7 Heilman 8 Wagner 9 Feliciano- a big lefty anywhere from the 4th to 7th
