  1. I'm pretty dead in this league, but my $$$ league is doing ok. I'm in 4th place right now, 11 points behind the leader. the top 5 teams have all traded away keepers to the bottom 5 teams for top players so all the top teams look stacked. I'm now the not-so-proud-owner of Tom Glavine, who i received for a useless (to me) Kevin Kouzmanoff. Phillips and Hart have been great keeper decisions but 2 of my other keepers from last year, Bay and Lidge, have kicked my ass. Lidge has since been dealt along with Berkman to bring back Penny, O.Hudson, and Rowand. anyone else want to keep us updated on their teams? Coobie?

Jeter .318/.389/.463/ 123+ DiMaggio .325/.398/.579/ 155+ and he even has twice the number of world series rings that captain intangibles has. sorry, Verducci. ="Frayed Knot"]Of course it would also eliminate most of their jobs so it's not going to happen. Just think about football alone. Since virtually all of FB talk is aimed at gamblers and therefore is about what they think is going to happen in that week's games, the logical (and only correct) answer of; "Well let's wait and see", would make about 95% of pre-game studio shows irrelevent and unneccesary. These days they are also catering to the Fantasy Football players by telling us not just what they expect to happen but which individual players they expect to have good games, they also scroll fantasy stats on the bottom of the screen i believe.
  3. that really is pathetic, throwing shit at players/officials should come with a lifetime ban from all sporting venues along with whatever penalties the local police and DA want to press for.
  4. nice win, 299 for Glavine who next pitches Tuesday in Milwaukee and then in Chicago. I kinda hope he does it on the road to get it over with.
  5. smg58 wrote: But why are the Padres dealing major leaguers for prospects? they still have a good bullpen and its pretty hard to turn down Inman for a reliever who will be a FA in a few months and likely get a deal at least equal to what Schoenweis and Bradford goti guess the Padres are smart enought to see that now and know they want no part of it
  6. Jim Tracy thrown out of the game arguing. The replay (according to the radio guys) shows the ball was caught, not trapped as the umpire ruled, so i guess the Mets should have been doubled off.
  7. ]Mark Grudzielanek is an important part of our team, general manager Dayton Moore said, and hes a guy who we like an awful lot. Moore also added that he liked Mets prospects "an awful lot" and mentioned something about smelling blood in the water... i'm not too excited about Grudz, though if he didn't cost the Mets anything good i wouldnt mind him being brought in.
  8. i still dont think Alou was too bad a move because it was only one year, there was nothing else out there in remotely the same range, and 50 backups all got hurt too which couldn't have been forseen. maybe Alou will still help this team, but if not he'll begone, its not like they got stuck with a bad contract for multiple years (cough Schoenweis cough)
  9. ="Yancy Street Gang"]If the contract specified 30 Schaefer points he'd already be vested. Maybe his agent will learn a lesson from this. how to register multiple names with the CPF and stuff our ballot boxes?
  10. Level Nine. i hate this game.
  11. Aren't there still several years left on Delgado's contract? Where would Texiera play? or are you also assuming we'd be able to move Delgado without essentially paying him AND Texeira?
  12. iramets wrote: You wouldn't be able to supply a link to that thread, would you, Johnny? Because a link might reveal a few positive comments about the Alou signing? With the names of specific CPFers on it, perhaps? It's a shame you can't find that link, a damned shame, I say. in the archives, november 2006, the thread is titled "Alou"
  13. stuck on L7.
  14. I'm headed out to Shea tonight!
  15. well i'm on level 4 now, but have lost my HR-swing again.
  16. DocTee wrote: He doubled last night and turned a sweeet 3-6-3 Double Play to get Smoltz out of an early jam. Is that suprising? he's been a big help to the Braves all year, no reason to stop now.
  17. me neither.
  18. Milledge for Loretta is wayyy overboard imo.
  19. i think he was used about as much as his production warranted being used. he shouldn't have been on the roster this long in the first place, its not willie's fault that he was here and willie has to do what he can with the tools he was provided, if one of those tools sucked i'm glad willie didn't use it much.
  20. you forgot the skankees i think

  22. Franco has been getting starts in Atlanta!
  23. I have a strange feeling that if we brought Belliard in he'd have a second-half similiar to Bordick's in 2000... well below the expectations set by his first half stats. I'd love to get Loretta, is he available?
  24. Knocked Up was good.
  25. not nearly the same thing, one (starting Hernandez at 2B regularly right now) requires a manager to make a dumb indefensible move, the other (starting Castro in CF) requires that the manager be almost literally brain dead.
