  1. Not to lose sight here on a west coast trip, we are going to the bottom of the 8th in a 13 run game after only 2 hours and 15 minutes. the pitch clock may create some bad headlines and we all hope it doesnt decide a big game, but its been pretty good most of the time!
  2. and the booth had to interrupt their thought so we could go to the studio to hear about some gambling-sponsored thing. come on
  3. 5 run lead is back! offense really stepping up here
  4. Sending Linfor there feels risky, but we'll take it!
  5. Damn. at least the Mets left that inning with the lead, but now Senga is likely done and we are digging into the bullpen again.
  6. If he was still with the Nationals we'd all be cheering him getting suspended and labelling him a cheater
  7. Kaboom again! you hit a Met they hit the ball out!
  8. Manaea hits another one - probably thinking he could use some of that Scherzer Goo right now
  9. Edgy MD wrote: I think Nimmo and McNeil have switched personalities. Suddenly the former is knocking everything around the plate around the ballpark, and the latter has become minutely selective. you gotta take what they give you - if the book on Nimmo is to make him hit it and the book on McNeil is don't throw strikes, its on them to change that!
  10. "I thought I was going get in front of a neutral arbitrator, but I wasn't. It was going to be through MLB. Given that process, I wasn't going to come out on top" "I thought I was going to get in front of a neutral judge, but this guy was appointed by Obama." -Future convicted Felon Donald J. Trump that is a lame answer by Scherzer. If you didn't appeal the suspension, its because you were guilty.
  11. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/1648814059054325761 Boras makes some good points here Boras is right - and the 10 game suspension is dumb. When they eject a pitcher, they should take a sample of the sticky substance. if it turns out to be rosin that got mixed in with the sunscreen on the guy's arm, its an ejection. no suspension. When it turns out to be "spider tack", 60 games.
  12. If he was already ejected he should run some rosin on the umpire's shirt, so it would be there for post game analysis
  13. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Edgy MD wrote: I was showering. Was Scherzer ejected for arguing or arguing because he was ejected? It's interesting that all this finger checking occasionally amounts to something. An inning (I think?) prior, they made Max change his glove, which pissed him off. Then they threw him out with the new glove. The radio guys were confused by it. They said they could read Max mouthing "it's rosin, it's rosin" over and over and didn't know why they didn't run him originally if he had a substance. This is extra bullshit when you look at the Yankees starter NOT ejected after already being warned the other day.
  14. Edgy MD wrote: Megill got out of that with almost nothing working for him. I'm so alone. I'm here, just totally uninspired by the Mets tonight
  15. I'm pretty sure MLB is paying the Atlantic League for the right to use their games as a petri dish. Someone, or multiple people, are vested in ensuring MLB exercises that the guy, even when there isn't really a need to.
  16. =nymr83 post_id=122727 time=1681789573 user_id=54] I like seeing Peterson back out for the 6th here - he has given up 5 runs - but big picture he hasn't walked anyone and has allowed two bombs to an MVP, so he isn't pitching too badly - let him pitch!

  18. Edgy MD wrote: Chasing this guy would be gold. Mets settle for the silver. Would definitely have been a big help in game 1 of a series, but maybe next inning!
  19. Vogelback gets another run home, this one hit not quite as hard
  20. Giancarlo Stanton is going to miss time because he hit a long fly that he admired from the box as a would be HR, only to see it doink off the wall, and then tried to leg out a 2B that he should have been running hard the entire time, and hurt his hamstring. Lesson #391 from the "sucks to suck" playbook so he got hurt fake hustling? perfect!
  21. anyone awake for this one? VOGELBOOM!
  22. https://twitter.com/anne__rogers/status/1648125973563592706 apparently she is the Royals beat writer. I'm guessing the Rangers beat writer was either crying or too busy replying to the laughter emojis from his Mets counterpart to post this sooner.
