1. lets hope Verlander can give he pen a good rest after Carrasco hung em out to dry last night
2. I'm not sure why I thought Bert Blyleven played for Toronto, but he didn't.
3. Gott cost 8.5 million and is so far 0 for 2 in "not sucking" shoulda left Hartwig in.
4. Carrasco letting the White Sox in on the action too. Great. The offense spots the bum a 6 run lead and he still makes sure we need to go to the bullpen early.
5. Will the Mets continue to toy with us like tonight to the point that they neither buy nor sell at the trade deadline?
6. Phillies/Marlins Dennis Cook 0.1%! it was all downhill from there...
7. I forgot all about the Expos and so couldn't come up with answers on two questions thinking of Nationals alone. The Texas Gold Glove was an easy one for me, only because I'll always remember Rafael Palmiero's 1999 Gold Glove at First base proving forever how incredibly dumb most baseball writers are. He played 128 games at DH that year.
8. https://twitter.com/RobHMorrow/status/1677820918695972869 Dear Mr. Morrow. Koufax' last year, he was 27-9, with a 1.73 ERA (190 ERA+) and struck out 317 batters. We would wish every starter on our staff would "fizzle" like that. He retired early due to injury. Crack a book, asshole. If you have trouble reading, maybe your eyes are blocked. Try pulling your head out of your butt. Strongly worded letter to follow. Later Koufax was the best pitcher on the planet, maybe ever (until Pedro 1997-2003 at least), for 5 years in a row. Gooden had ONE year at that level.
9. I like the classic Padres logo best. The Oriole is nice too
10. Pete Alonso determined to have his worst year as a pro.
11. Frayed Knot wrote: Nothing says 9th inning baseball in NYC like blasting 'Sweet Home Alabama' over the stadium PA You prefer 'Johnny B. Goode' maybe? I'm just happy it's not suavemente
12. My worst day in awhile. I flat out blanked on the other on the entire Cleveland row and took multiple guesses and never made it to Saint Louis at all. I was shocked Bob Feller didn't win 300 games.
13. =MFS62 post_id=131660 time=1689370748 user_id=60] The Sproat has sprouted. They signed second rounder Brandon Sproat. Later
14. Maybe next time i should look at all the squares before filling any in. Fred McGriff was the only BlueJays hall of famer I can think of and i already used him. I looked it up afterwards. I had no recollection that Roy Halladay was a hall of famer or that Scott Rolen, Jack Morris, Frank Thomas, Rickey Henderson, or Dave Winfield played for the Blue Jays. I am pissed I forgot Roberto Alomar though.
15. 1 and 1 is brutal travel. Why not do 2 at home and 0 on the road and then switch next season?
16. I still don't need interleague play. or the DH. An Exhibition Series against the Yankees in Florida could be televised and timed to a few days before the regular season so that both teams can line up their #1/#2/#3 starters and thats about all the interleague i need.
17. =Fman99 post_id=131521 time=1689186165 user_id=86] It sullies their traditions so it's great. It's like shitting on the mound.
18. new grid up. oof. I learned tonight that neither Ken Griffey jr. nor Alex Rodriguez were the ROY for Seattle. Then I hastily typed in The Big Unit before recalling he pitched for the Expos. Then I closed the browser window. Brutal. Immaculate Grid 101 4/9: Rarity: 602 ⬜️⬜️🟩 ⬜️⬜️🟩 ⬜️🟩🟩 Play at: https://immaculategrid.comhttps://immaculategrid.com
19. a warning for those of you trying to hit the lowest possible % guys, they changed the rules - in order to qualify for a rate stat (BA, ERA, etc) the player needs to have qualified that season. so no more ".300 hitter" pitchers who went 1 for 3.
20. =DocTee post_id=131407 time=1689120147 user_id=85] [bLOCKQUOTE]The Mets have been around just as long as the Astros, yet almost twice as many Mets played for the Dodgers compared to Astros[/bLOCKQUOTE] Probably because the infant Mets acquired a lot of former Brooklyn Dodgers to capture the fan base? Or because the Dodgers and Astros were NL West competitors and intra-division deals are few and far between?

I also have no idea where Law is at these days but i don't think it's mlb so I doubt it's his stuff.

24. 2nd round Mets took the guy who spurned them in the 3rd round last year. i guess that means they either have a deal with him or value a compensation pick next year more than they value whoever was on the board
